As for who would win in a real fight, it would be close. Smoke's arsenal of moves goes beyond what he has in the game. He has the power of smoke particles and vapor and can also transform into a demon.

If you get down to it, Raiden is probably one of the most weakest characters and more of a side character because he probably doesn't know any martial arts and his powers are gone when he goes outside of Earthrealm. He cowers like a bitch in the presence of Shao Kahn!

You don't know much about Raiden.

There's nothing much to Raiden in the first place. The major things that happened to him was him attaining elder god status after beating Shinnok a second time, him suiciding against Onaga and coming back as the scary evil Raiden, and him getting owned by Shao Kahn's hammer and making another timeline.

IMO, Raiden shouldn't really be a fighter in the first place. He's a god, not a fighter.

And Smoke just another member of Lin Kuei who should be just a very minor character at best. grin

If anything, Raiden is one of the most important characters in the series, who accomplished a lot. Smoke accomplished what? Nothing. He was turned into cyborg and become Noob's slave. He never did anything of significance in the story. In MK9 he did even less.

this has been going on for days now, and every time I've come here it's been Smoke in the lead, I feel that MK Online are keeping it up until Raiden takes the lead, Smoke has been the clear winner for the past 3 days now. they should wrap this up now.

Most weakest, eh? Most... weakest... Sure he is... sure he is.

Smoke got his ass handed to him by Sindel, that says enough.

You guys are just judging Smoke based on that shitty MK9 timeline. You really think that a demon ninja is just gonna get his fucking neck broke by some bitch with powers on par compared to some random D.C. superheroes? He didn't even use any moves of his in those cut scenes!

I stopped caring about that game's storyline right after the part where Sindel just goes on a killing spree in that room with everybody in it up to Nightwolf taking Sindel down with him. What the hell was that shit? lol

Back on track. Raiden is an important character in MK, but he's not the shit compared to Smoke, imo. Disregarding all the crap Midway/Netherrealm put Smoke through ( i.e. turning him into a robot, controlled by Noob, etc... ), he can break a foot off in a bitch!

Lin Kuei supremacy!

LOL are you serious Sindel solo'd everyone in that room including sub-zero/cyber zero with the exception of Nightwolf.

Raiden to me is the epitome of an icon I love the character as much as any other icon. But if it was any of your favorite kombatants would you not want them to win?

Fanboyism. Smoke is dead. #dealwithit.

BTW, I wouldn't say Cyber Sub-Zero is dead, all that happened was he got kicked in the stomach and died. Which is big bullshit.

Please, stop this fanboish stupidity.
I judge Smoke on original timeline as well and he always was a B-tier character, if not C-tier. I was really surprised, that he received his own chapter.

As for, if he can defeat Raiden in the battle...nobody knows for sure, so this all is fanboish crap. But going by the fact, that Raiden is the god, which already puts him above many other fighters, I'd say Smoke have little to no chance against him.

Nobody stays dead in MK. I don't why anyone would use that as a basis for any argument...ever.

My vote went to Smoke because he's improved as a character over time. Raiden is the exact opposite. Raiden is a troll at this point. A complete fucking idiot who messes everything up and it's been like that for years. His voice actor is terrible too IMO.

For all the talk about how powerful he is, he couldn't even beat out mortals to win any of the MK tournaments. "Icon status" only gets you so far.

Raiden does know over 700 forms of Jujitsu (sp?) iirc. (See MKDA Konquest mode)

No way could Smoke handle him Hand to hand. The only way I'll buy that is if he can beat Liu Kang h2h since Kang is the strongest Earthrealm mortal. And being a god already puts it in his favor.

Ha, you tell me to stop with the fanboy shit, but what is this whole poll exactly? It's nothing but a fanboy "MK Idol" contest. I'll defend Smoke like a non-hetero fanboy. You can bring up all the facts from past MK games and say that compared to Raiden, Smoke is about as important as a random grain of sand on a beach. But you know what? Raiden don't have that Smoke swag!

I care about character storyline, gameplay, appearance. Everything else doesn't mean anything to me.

Both of these guys are awesome. Though I would have not expected Smoke to make it this far, I'm happy that he did. It's good to see him get into the mix towards the top. And as for Raiden, I've always liked Raiden since the very first game. His electricity has always had me at awe.

What's wrong with Richard Epcar as Raiden? I think he does a pretty good job. That just sounded pretty random apart from everything else.

As for Smoke, you really can't compare Smoke to Raiden character wise. It just ain't even close. Raiden is so much more important than Smoke ever will be. Raiden is about as MK as you can get. Smoke is just a background character that was a robot, and now is a human with ridiculous surfer hair. I like Smoke and he has improved as a character. But Raiden is miles above Smoke on the totem pole.
