First off, I'm not back. Second, I figured I'd bump this instead of making a new thread.

This is a product of stress relief and insomnia. Just a scrap. Kicking the tires so to speak. I'm not sure where I was really going with this, I would just say it's a take on Ermac I guess. The base is an adjusted unfinished sprite of mine seen earlier in this thread (pretty sure it's on page one).

Judging by the loin cloth/armor, it looks like you started off with a Shinnok idea on your base sprite. Am I correct?

It'd be interesting to see what exactly you'd use that sprite pose for.

Made the spawn fake a while ago(spawn is KI Glacius darkened) ...i kept darken it , should have used grey scale, then darken it...did not know that at the time...

Made this fake just to get some feedback if i got the palette swap technique right(black/white palette) ... The skeleton hands are from google images...

That is a pretty sweet fake. I love the edits on Sheeva.

The sprite is good. The only thing that could use a little work is making his clothing in the white version less wrinkled looking. Sure, ninjas probably don't care about ironing their clothes... but if you were going for a "roughed up" look you hit it spot on.

The only thing that needs more shading are the pants/legs of Necro.

I agree about the pants, but I wouldnt add TOO much detail. I guess u can reference strykers pants for an example

First of all, hey guys I'm baaack! Second of all, I'm still really surprised that all of you can make such great backgrounds with the limited spritework we really have at our disposal XD

Okay so I had just made a fake using riki's sprites on one of my backgrounds so here it is! Basically it's just a Rain VS Sektor in the Acid Bath Arena:

You're talented enough that you don't need to borrow boring fighting stance sprites from somebody else. There's no action going on here.

Since you used these sprites whose costume pieces are cut and pastes of resized images with sloppy pixel smudging here and there, it actually ruins what could have been.

The blur effect on the "fight" text is too distracting... and not in a good way.

The background itself isn't worth much praise. You turned Hell / Netherrealm / Scorpion's Lair green and pasted some more green props and called it a new arena.

Not your best work. Not at all.

Anyway, it is nice, I like it, and the arena too. If you could make the ground a little darker and maybe less colorful, it would look better I think.
The "Fight" sign I like a lot. It's just unique that's why it is cool!

Maybe you could put a green lighting on the sprites too, as the background colors reflecting on the characters. Though I'm not too good in doing that.

Although I agree with most of what BS said... i think u did a good job fitting the colors of the arena together. The only thing i would suggest is to start practicing piecing smaller but more parts of other arenas to make it look more unique. perhaps illustrate a different area of the netherrealm. i hope that makes sense.

Shao Kahn's Underwater Fortress:
An interpretation of an Underwater Fortress made by Shao Kahn. Laws of physics will however dictate that there are multiple chambers in the Fortress where there is air leading to a tube that leads outside and up to the surface, while there is also a prison where, well prisoners are taken to be drowned underwater. I feel this area is unique and there really hasn't been many [if any] underwater arenas in Mortal Kombat. The placeholder while Shao Kahn is gone is Hydro (Cyrax, Sektor and Smoke's counterpart). While being a robot, Hydro is able to survive underwater both without air and the need for circuits to get wet. This making him the ideal cantidate to watch over the "prisoners."

The underwater prison idea it's not bad , not necessarily to drown the prisoners , but to make their escape impossible. Maybe a better guardian would be an amphibian boss character similar to kraken...
The stage ... not sure if the floor colors and that blue mix very well...U have the blue castle in bg and went with a different color for the floor...maybe the floor could have been a little darker suggesting water depth ...I don't know , it could have gone a little better...I haven't seen much of your work but bs said you're pretty talented so I'll leave the final verdict to Bs
