I don't have my first fakes anymore (I started about a year or two ago), but I have continually gotten better. AKA, keep in mind that MKR, that hodge-podge is way better than me, and I am 11 NOW.

Of course, the Rain stage I made is probably one of my favorite fakes . . . ever . . .

Well, I am missing the copy/paste era of my fakes. I think there were like five of those. Nothing to call home about. I remember a couple of them.. They were all MSPaint.. and I barely understood how to do copy and paste sprites without issues. Lol



I know the feeling man. MK:DA was a personal hype-high for me as a MK fan overall. The MKD hype was fun for awhile but tapered off.. MK9 hype was okay, but no where near the same level of excitement of MK:DA. The time between MK4 and the first images of MK:DA was probably the most interesting and genuinely exciting for me as a forum goer. Or maybe that was the hormones, IDK.

Back when I made my Third Raiden Electrocution fake, BS dared me to make a Fujin fake. ...well that fake didn't get very far:

This is definitely a solid start. I agree that it should be continued upon. Just needs some editing and shading love to be a great sprite edit.

Holy shit that's a nice background. I hope you take it and turn it into a fully realized fake. That being said i do have two qualms with the stage:

1.) The horizon is too high. It looks like the cityscape is
resting on the outermost wall.

2.) No effort was made to mask the sections where the
mirrored props were joined together. They stick out like
a sore thumb and look unnatural. This is a pet peeve of mine
when it comes to custom fakes. Be conscious of it, especially
by the more experienced artists. It's easy enough to blend or
hide these anomalies.

True, true. I need to rip my own arena props instead of using only MKW.

I wanted to make the arrows into "snake" arrows (a la Conan the Barbarian 1982) and the bow into a snake-looking bow.

Chameleon was going to have translucent skin like MK Armageddon. As you can see it's just gray skin. I know, his weapons are not translucent... and they're not supposed to be.

I also had to still fix the issues with background but I just don't want to anymore.

Very nice idea and sprite use. You should finish the snake arrows at least or use it in another fake

A very haunting background but get ET out of there! Replace him with something more sinister like a witch or winged demon. Torch looks great but Hornbuckle needs to be closer to him as he dodges the flying kick. Not sure if I like how the background pillars look when reduced in size. Nice idea with the Bow and Arrow but it doesn't mesh all that well with Chameleon's ghost like aura. Maybe something more ethereal like Nightwolf's bow would be a better match. It's got such a great atmosphere though, making it look really defined. Get this sucker up on YouTube and play it against a sound file that contains howling wind.

A signature is usually something unique to that person. I don't think you're the only ET fan that has silhouetted the iconic duo in some form, regardless if it was ever done in MK. Don't confuse this with a forum post signature now. We can go back and forth with this all day. I just don't see how this is your signature.

It's his "signature" because, as far as I can remember, no one else has added that silhouette to his or her fake pictures, let alone on such a recurrent basis. I could pick his entry out of a lineup of any number of images as long as it possessed this trademark characteristic. That's what makes it his signature, as it is an element that sets his artwork apart from that of others.
