Have someone else write comics, and you just draw them.

Instead of quitting, here's a trick I use whenever I feel like my humor senses are in peril.

Go back to your older comics (or alternatively, check out other comics) that got high ratings and were really good. Study them for a bit, and ask yourself, "What did I/they write in their comic that made it so good?"

When you find your answer, spend time trying to create a comic inspired by your/their dialogue and humor.

Here's my tip, expand your ideas a little bit more. Frankly, don't give us a 12 panel comic if the actual joke more or less just involes 5 of those, but frankly, I think it's hard as fuck to come up with a decent joke with one or two panels. Just elaborate on why Sindel is happy about having her arms removed.
Another thing is, that, at least in my opinion, one-shot comics are kind of difficult to pull off right after another. I always think it's easy to connect them in some common way, either be it an actual storyline, or just a running gag. IE, |{ombat always has Reptile doling out puns (he even fooled wikipedia), I'm going to have Sektor sing a relevant song for a situation, etc.

I think this one just comes down to being ill-conceived from the beginning.
Even the old, she's 'armless, could save this one. tongue

Lol, that was unexpected, which is what good comics always are. Good job there. For me, I find stupidity and randomness to be funny, and this comic has both of those in it. Sheevas involvement is always a plus, and that facial expression on Sindel was hilarious.

I give it 4/5.

The thing is, it has to make sense. Jokes have to make sense in order to be funny; even random ones. Yes, it's weird but true. Why on earth is Sindel saying ''that was fun'' when her arms were ripped off? Why does she like it and Sheeva didn't? It doesn't make any sense, therefore not funny.
I understand it's because Sindel has that friendship where she goes ''that was fun'', but it still doesn't make enough sense to be funny.

To be fair, that's really very misleading.
It's less about 'making sense,' and more about making sense in context.

Sometimes a reaction that's just completely absurd is going to be your punchline, and it's funny because it's the opposite of the sensible response.
It just requires some kind of set-up to put it into an appropriate comedic context.

So, sense isn't the issue here. It's just comedic structure.

Comedy's a science. It has certain undeniable laws like physics.
Sometimes certain forces can be bent, but they can't be broken. And it's easier to know that, than to actually live by that.

But I would completely disagree that it's about 'making sense.'
Nonsensical is fine, as long as you're showing your 'working out,' and have some kind of formula to it.
