As for Persephone, I read her and was delighted/bothered to find out she has one striking similarity to my own entry. Her animal shaped bolts compared to mine, who summon animals for their special moves... Anyway! I think her story is her best attribute, though I admittedly didn't read too much into the special moves... I skimmed, I cannot lie, hehe... I also enjoy a good downer ending... The x-ray is her second best attribute... It's very unique and creative. The non-violent fatalities could be refreshing, but they'll probably be more polarizing than anything. I'd say it's a great character... Though I think she lacks attitude. She needs a touch more pizazz. Heh, upon reading it, her "Buffalo" is almost identical to Uresula's "Swan" move.

I thought the vote was supposed to be blind to avoid favoritism? I've been keeping pretty mum about my entry, considering.

Hmm... the round taunts, Babality and other tidbits in my entry are gone, and while I'm a bit disappointed by the effort and character detail lost, I suppose it was just in the interest of keeping things standardized.

Yes, I was one of those cheeky monkeys who stretched the rules by adding a little more game detail than asked. I thought it was good info, though. Must the letter of the law deny a little creative extrapolation in a creativity contest? Ah well, I'm still glad to be a part of it.





"Persephone" serves that purpose pretty well, I think. It seems to sound natural coming out of the announcer's voice. Its Greek mythology basis refers to a goddess widely recognized as a damsel in distress, which subtracts from it slightly... but for those who know her role as Queen of the Underworld, or who don't know her at all, it works perfectly well. In any case, I'm always happy to see females without "-a" names for MK.

Heh, I went into this thinking I had come up with an incredibly unique name for my character... And then I realized it ended in with an 'a' and nearly shat myself.

Oh, I thought it was one person with two entities.

I really like the costumes. They look freakishly futuristic. lol

The bio seems a bit hollow, there doesn't seem to be much of a plot. Still, I love the concept of their people. It seems it could a race of people Nightwolf may possibly descend from.

I love their special moves, and after going through them, they don't really seem like Persephone's. Luren and Uresula's special moves are much more physical and offensive, while the majority of Persephone's special moves are meant to protect her from harm. When it comes to Swan Spirit, that move seems to be long range, while Buffalo is short range, which adds to the significance of the opponent being knocked to the other side of the arena.

The X-Ray is definitely the highlight of the moveset. I'd love to see all the Spirits together like that.

Uresula's fatality is a bit difficult to grasp, but I must admit it is quite humorous, and defininitely something I want to see. Luren's fatality is pure MK. Just fine there.

Overall, I can see them particularly in the next game, as sort of a wild card between Raiden and Shinnok. Great work here, Harle.

Man, hindsight is always 20/20. Looking over my character, it does comes down to "I could've done this better, changed this around" etc.

'tis true the bio is a little hollow, but last time there was quite a bit of bitching over long bios, so I tried to keep it as trim as possible... I did not realize half of the entries this time did the exact opposite, hehehe. Though it does go hand in hand with the ending, heh, which is where the plot unfolds a bit more....

They aren't too similar to yours, thankfully, but it surprised me to see that another entry using animals had what appeared to be the same move... But they don't function the same way in the slightest upon further thought. The Swan can pull them closer too, so it's more about controlling where they are than keeping them away. Though offensive isn't quite what I was going for... If you read into the 'acrobatics' and 'evasion' sections, those offensive moves become more about confusion and well... Evasion, heh. As for her fatality... Just think of someone going fishing... But instead of fishing line... Intestines.

Yeah, I looked at some I thought were amazing like Alloy and Ameerah, pretty freakin sweet. You thought of Silver ninja, so maybe I'll make a gold ninja . . . hmm . . . Also, this is how Ed Boon made Rain . . . Driving in the car, hey a prince song! Rain, purple, lightning ninja, purple, hmm, wait, I got it! PURPLE RAIN! THE PERFECT NINJA! And it ends up to be a character:

Gotta say, your art style is pretty beast for this sort of thing.

Vipehr overall seems like yet another subtlty, a character that can easily blend in to the MK universe.

I must admit, though, her costume reminds me a little too much of Khameleon, but considering their race, it fits. I like that she's somewhat aimlessly wandering Outworld, it sets her up for both good and bad fortune. Her ending is a bit illegible, so it took a while to understand it.

In the end, I think Vipehr might want to have a talk with Persephone.

Long Version:
It seems the Bio is well thought out and the Birthplace is a good idea. As seeing we already have the realms: Earthrealm, Netherrealm, Edenia, Nexus, Outworld, Seido, Chaosrealm, Vaeturnus, Elder Gods, Wind Realm, etc.; Maybe the Void is a new area, maybe to fight in and always against Phantom. I do think that we have too many places though at the moment . . .

As you all may have thought before, Dai Kahn is the brother of Shao Kahn.

Yes the mystery of Shao must be preserved, but why can't we have a small peek into a possible history if he had a "brother"?

My story starts before Shao Kahn was even in power and not even Onaga's apprentice. Dai Kahn was the one that was going to kill Onaga till his brother Shao found out Dai's plan and took the plan for his own behind Dai's back. After Shao had killed Onaga and took his place as ruler, Shao had his brother banished to the subterranean underground of the Nether Realm. Imprisoned and bonded with chains that upon them had a spell from Shao. The spell can only be broken upon the death of his brother Shao Kahn. Dai Kahn will be unseen and unheard for thousands of years if not till the end of time. Bypassing every even in the MK universe to date till the events of "Armageddon", the mystical energy that was drawing in every warrior from every realm found it's way to Dai Kahn and in the process breaking the spell that has kept him imprisoned for thousands of years.
