Riyakou i feel ya. my character kevshi got slaughtered last time.

now i have more realalistic goals in the tournament. try to make it to the 2nd round and improve with each tournament.

I'd probably explode if I made it that far. lol

With Oksana, I was, in the end, pleased that people at least liked her story. This time, I think it's a matter of how well people can take change. And secrets.

I'm thinking of making a revised version of Cerastes as well, instead of a whole new character. To be honest, I feel empty for ideas for a new character and those I can think of have already been done before. Cerastes isn't a whole new and original concept either, but he is based on an OC of mine I've had for a long time now, so I already have a connection with him, if you know what I mean...

Totally understand how you feel. Same thing with me , the whole reason I got into drawing was to draw my Mortal Kombat OC. This time I will do him justice :D

I loved your Ekimaru drawing! :D A really nice take on a ninja character without copying the MK cookie cutter ninjas.

A method I use for coming up with MK characters is taking a look into the series' storyline and ask what I think should've been done differently.

For example, let's say you didn't want Ashrah want find the Kriss sword and gain her freedom. Well, you're gonna need someone to make that happen. And poof! You've made your first step into creating a new character.

With strategic planning, you can even make the character have very little to do with Ashrah. He could be a member of the Tekunin sent to the Netherrealm to collect an artifact, and was assumed by Ashrah to be a demon. Or she could be a fallen goddess sentenced to Hell by the Elder Gods for a crime she did not commit, and kills Ashrah out of anger and rage, making the Elder Gods further believe she was guilty.

All you need is the smallest scenario, and everything else will come naturally.

i'm curious if longlivequeensindel and Kamionero will enter. i enjoyed there characters last tournament. wonder what they'd make.

Jaded-Raven and Ekimaru i'm sure you guys will do fine in the tournament. you guys had some interesting concepts and made it kinda far. i think.

do you know if your using your character again or creating a new one. also will you have some new moves and such if you do decide to bring him back or you focusing more on his story/bio.

can't wait for the tournament. it's going to be fun.

I am thinking of bringing him back indeed. Not changing anything canon wise ,but I will try to DEVELOP his character further. (story-wise , and therefore due to the changes of his story maybe his special moves and appearance may varry)

Imagine the differences between Sub-Zero in MKDA and Sub-Zero in MKD.(subby was such a badass in MKD (ancestors armor) and such an old man in MKDA (the dragon meadallion) )
Still the same character but with vastly different appearances,yet still holding to what makes the character iconic.

Also I think I may draw some characters that catch my interest,like last time , I know I am not the best of artists but when my exams are over I will try to better my artistic skills .

Finished up everything for my character except his appearance.

I haven't posted on a MK site in years... I didn't even know this contest existed. I have a couple characters I created half a decade ago, I plan to edit and enter one of them.

Its been a while I haven't even played MK9 yet.

I'm debating whether or not I really want to participate in this. It seems like fun, though.

No Crow running it this year makes me sad =(

I'm not creative enough to participate, but I'm glad this is going again.

At least the winners will actually receive their prizes this time around. That's always better than fantasizing about what it'd be like to receive a prize for something into which you put the time and effort with the ultimate hope that your entry earns you at least a share of the spoils.

I also made one last year but didn't eventually sent it coz I didn't have a good story in my mind. This time l made some stuff up and will try it out :P Good luck to everyone!
