If i might suggest a locale, or setting for this. I'd say the tournament grounds on the night before the tournament. Those wide open spaces with monks going about their business, many dark corners or stands for seating crowds. All below the watchful eye of Shang Tsung who moves amongst the many entrants.

A monk totters on over to where the Shokan woman is seated, on the ground, legs crossed beneath her. Her hands are folded in her lap, and the fourth toys idly with a long dreadlock. He places down a plate before her, the best he could manage of what awkward directions he was given to feed the non-terrestial woman, and leaves with a quick bow.

Khaali is almost as tall as the monks when seated, her huge fountain of dreadlocks making her look even larger. Her gray skin looks almost black in the moonlight, and she is bare naked but for a gruesome skirt of some animal leather than looks almost fresh.

She tears into the meat provided, none to keen on whatever it is that they kill for food in Earthrealm, and continues to watch the many strange entrants who fill the courtyard grounds.

Standing at the edge of a cliff is the thunder god Raiden and the newly awakened Ekibyogami. Having just been awakened by the thunder god to help in the defense of Earthrealm,a lot of tension is still maintained between the two.
"We must stop Shao Kahn,Earthrealm depends on it" mused Raiden.
"Ya,you've said that,by the way why are we dealing with Shao Kahn anyway, I thought he was a protector god?"
"He usurped power from the dragon king,and took over the realm" replied Raiden.
"He took out Onaga,how?"
"Poison"
"What a jerk"
"Uhhhh yes I guess that would be a appropriate description"

Looking slyly at Raiden, Ekibyogami retorted "Did he place his best friend in a rock for centuries?"

" Your still upset about that?"

"Your damn right I'm still upset!"

The two gods continued to bicker for a few more minutes. This had been the general theme of their trip so far,they would find themselves easily slipping back into their old habits,getting along and joking with each other,only for the reason for their conflict to come up again.
Raiden informed Ekibyogami that he needed to meet the warriors of earthrealm. Confident that his abilities could keep himself alive on his own he left Ekibyogami alone to scout for possible allies.After taking a quick nab he embarks down the hill into the village below.

(out of character.... Hehehe... I have never done this before but I've got enthusiasm! Here goes)

Some distance from the larger gathering of contestants, the slender Annette leans against the wall, half hidden by shadow. Her swan neck tilting back as she scans the crowd through half closed eyes. She is not approached by anyone for some time, and seems to prefer it this way. Taking it all in, she is rather surprised upon her first viewing of a rather large woman seated across the room. That was not the only strange thing she'd seen, however, through the dim light she saw many things she'd never witnessed before.

Khaali tosses aside the meat, bored with it. It wasn't fighting back.
Standing, she towers over seven foot tall, and stretches out all four powerful arms, her huge breasts pushed out at most human's head height, and cracks her neck side to side. A skinny dog hurries over to steal the discarded meat, and Khaali lets out a high feline hiss, bearing her fangs, and sends the dog scampering away.

She talks out loud to herself,

"Is this a human tournament? Bad meat, little four legged creatures and silent monks? Everyone wearing so much useless clothing you'd think it was a tundra. Why anyone would give a damn to conquer this rock I have no idea."
Her voice is sharp and husky, like a purring tiger. She claps a monk on the back as he goes past, almost sending him flying.

"Drink, little man. Fetch." She motions him away with a flutter of one hand.

An explosion of light erupts. A loud crash shakes the ground around. Dazed and slightly confused a woman stands in the middle of a large crater.
"I haven't done that in millenniums " She stretches out and looks around, finally remember her mission she creates her ring blade out of thin air she says "where are you Raiden?" She focuses in towards the East, "There you are!"
Serenity, the goddess of time runs, as if moving in fast foward, towards the island of Shang Tsung.

While sitting in the village(after a few villagers tried to burn him with some torches) Ekibyogami saw a woman intently marching east. Sensing a great power(though not knowing what),and having found nothing in the village,he approaches her hoping that she may be a strong warrior.

As Serenity crosses a near by village, she is approached by a man. She feels great power emitting from him but she is still uninterested. "Out of my way mortal, there is but one that deserves my attention"

*nevermind*

Shiku arrives on the shores of Shang Tsungs island clinging on to the back of Shang Tsungs ferry ship following a ghosts trail. As the ship arrives and contestants depart. He waits until he believes everyoen is gone, and as he climbs up the back of the ship, he hears a cabin door swing open and a voice that he thought sounded familiar.

"The tournament will start at dusk tomorrow. We will see which of these KOHMBATANTS will rise to the challenge" says Shang Tsung.

Shiku rises, thinking the voice is familiar and sees a young sorcerer talking to a hideous beast with teeth like daggers. The Tarkatans blades emerge, and Shiku immediately snags his staff from behind his back and holds it out defensively. Shang Tsung stops Baraka from attacking, as he sees potential for a new entrant into the tournament.

Materializing out of his robes, the rogue Shadow Priest known as Marek sets out on his quest to the island of his former master, Shang Tsung.
"I must find Lord Raiden and aid his chosen warriors in the war to come. Shao Kahn must be stopped ind order to prevent the One Being's return."
Traveling east, Marek eventually comes upon two warriors, a man covered in flies, and a woman with a mysterious air surrounding her. Sensing great power from the two warriors, Marek steels himself for battle. "I do not wish for battle, but I must reach Lord Raiden by any means necessary."

Ekibyogami pushed on. "So who are you looking for? i may be able to help"
Just then he noticed a man in robes watching.
"Hey you there,the one steeling yourself for battle,are you going east too? Maybe you can be of some help, I need some recrutes for a tournament or something,i'm not sure i fell asleep while raiden was talking"

As Serenity tries to walk past the man ignoring him, a purple cloaked figure approaches. "I do not wish for battle, but I must reach Lord Raiden by any means necessary." he said.
"Raiden? What do you know of Raiden? Where is he?" Serenity proclaim while her ring blade forms. "How do both of you know of the thunder god?"

As the Kombatants leave the boat to the tournament grounds, a woman wearing a light jacket, tank top, tight jeans, and boots short of her knee struts towards the opposite direction.

The bangs on eachside of her face, and her medium length ponytail flow in the gentle breeze.

She struts along the Path through the Gardens before she is stopped by the Black Dragon leader, Kano.

'Stop right there. Where do ya think you're goin'?' the thug demanded.

'I'm on my way to the tournament grounds. I just wanted...to check out the scenery.' Krimson told.

'Hmph. You better get the Courtyard ASAP.' Kano stepped aside slowly, and watched as she began to walk off.

'Alright then.'

'Ay, wait a minute.' Kano held his hand out to stop her.

Krimson stood in place, and called out, 'Yes?'

'You look familiar.'

'Oh yea? I get that a lot. Perhaps, I am just that beaultiful.' Krimson bragged as she continued walking.

'Hm. Gonna have to keep an eye on her.'

Krimson found her way to the Courtyard and eyed everyone to size up the competition. Then, she took a place near a red clad ninja woman.

Ire: "The armies are ready my lord they await your command"

Shinnok: "Instruct them to stand by Ire, the warriors of the realms must meet their doom before the invasion if we are to succeed."

Ire: "yes my lord, I have prepared my entry into the tournament as you have instructed. If any stand in my way, they shall meet only their swift destruction."

Shinnok: "That is why you are here, do not fail me"

Ire: "there will be no one left standing, you have my word master."

Ire disappears in a pyre of flame, only to find himself in an empty Goro's lair. Johnny Cage battles Baraka above in the first matches of the tournament.

"What do you mean I have no right to enter this Mortal Kombat?"
The masked guard quickly looked up from his official Guide to the Realms and Kombat, "Well, it states here in article 47, participle x that, and I quote, 'No fighter from any unrecognized realms may enter into the Mortal Kombat tournament.' Sir."
This incensed the royal figure standing before the gates to Shang Tsung's tournament grounds. "Why, whatever do you mean by 'unrecognized realm'?"
"Please,Sir, this guide is very strict about what is and isn't an officially recognized realm of the Elder Gods. There is simply no record of any 'Moonlantis'."
"Of course theres a Moonlantis!" The hideous krab man, clad in regal finery, waved his pincer to the night sky, "It's up there. In all it's shining glory, Moonlantis, that moon, looks down upon all of you."
The guard didn't bother to refer to his tome again and simply stated, "Sir. There's a line forming behind you. It looks to be made up of CREDIBLE participants. Can you please just move along and have a nice day?"

Shiku walks off the ferry in front of Baraka and Shang Tsung, Shiku sees one of the gang members that previously stole his weapon talking to a femalke kombatant that he did not recognize. He waited for their conversation to end, and then went over to Kano, saying "You owe me some answers" He gives Krimson a glance as she walks away, wondering if she has any association with his rival...

Casilde fell to the ground, clutching her head in agony.

Before her she saw a courtyard filling with figures of varying shapes and sizes, mutants with metallic blades and asassins in different colours. She sensed great power within these figures realising that this was no dream, these people were real, as was the strange world they inhabited.

Although she had never been there before, Casilde felt an odd familiarity to the location before her. Before she was able to gather any clues as to how she might recognise such a strange place, she came to. The voices of her freinds and employers echoed through her mind.

'...It's these corsets he puts us in, they're too damn tight...'
....
'...the bastard works us too 'ard, we eat, sleep and dream this place...'

Rising to her feet Casilde shrugged of the drama as nothing but a dizzy spell. As the sound of cheers and heckles rose within the room she braced herself for another performance. The crimson curtain rose and the spotlights blinded her.

Despite the excitement, Casilde felt the unnerving presence of some inhuman figure. Something was watching her...

"For me a long story,which will eventually end in a butt kicking but before we get to that we are trying to ensure the world isnt destroyed,I can probably introduce him to you,but i might need to learn your intentions first,same deal for robey over there..Also why does everybody i meat keep preparing to kill me?"

"My intentions are divine! If you wish to be saved from the wrath of the Elder Gods you will interfere no longer and tell me what you know! BOTH of you!"

"A please would have been nice,but I will tell you if you tell me your plans for Raiden."
In truth the fierce single mindedness of the strange woman worried Ekibyogami,as it leads to drastic action and he wished to scope out how out of hand this situation could get.

Nevermind because I was going to have her follow someone to find Raiden, but I decided to have her meet Raiden with all the other Earthrealm folk so she'll be swept up in the crowd as opposed to having alone time with Raiden.

"So be it mortal, i am Serenity, i am the goddess of time. I have been sent by the Elder Gods to punish Raiden for interfering with their plans. Now that i have humored you, tell me who you are and how you know Raiden." Serenity worries now if she should of told this mortal of her plans, she has never dealt with mortals first hand, but she cannot show them her deep insecurities of her mission.
