"And who's to say these aren't royal vestments?"
He motions to his poorly fitted, unbuttoned pants as he pulls them up in the back. He runs his fingers through his hair as he continues, "And no peasant has hair as wondrous as my own."
It was true, his hair was quite fluffy. Quite.
"Though if I'm being terribly honest, I'm not well suited to the role. You see, I was born to serve. I am drawn to power... Raw, uninhibited, natural power. Though I try to stand tall I'm afraid I can't help but to submit... 'Tis my fatal flaw, it seems."
Etienne closes his eyes tight and twitches his head, looking puzzled for a moment. As his eyes reopen they are slightly bluer, but quickly return to green. Fully recovered from his fit of twitching, he begins to pace around the shokan.
"Someone like yourself wouldn't happen to have use for a king like myself? Would they? I make an excellent errand boy and have a lovely singing voice.... Not to sound too proud, heh.... But is is clear to me, you stand against a powerful crowd, and all on your own hold them back. If I were a wolf, I'd roll on my back and howl to you. Were I a cat, I'd bathe you and cherish the privilege. You stand, a goddess among us, and I am helplessly enthralled."
He stops in front of the woman, no longer on his tip toes, and looks up at her face.
"My duty in life is to serve, and here I find no more fitting a mistress than yourself."
Khaali looks the man over, his pants barely staying on and his bare chest.
"Actually...now that I think about it.... You don't dress all that different from the Emperor...."
She leans back against a wall, one pair of arms folded framing her chest, the other behind her head.
"Of course no king would submit to anyone. If he did, he would be weak, and overthrown. A fatal flaw indeed."
"What use would I have for a king? None I can name.... They pimp and preen and promise, but little ever gets done. And besides....human males are a little small..." She smiles, baring her fangs darkly, a glint in her slit pupils.
"As for bathing one another. Members of Clan Tigrar hold that in quite personal regard. And....how did you say it......you haven't bought me dinner yet?"
