Just finished the 2nd one right now. Did the 1st one a while ago.





I thought it was time that I posted again. Learned new patterns and techniques for sharper and smoother textures. I used Photoshop and Paint techniques. Classic spriting techniques like dithering and stroking. Photoshop filters also played a small part. I did most of the editing, barely used other sprite materials. Only the shoulder pads were taken from a different character.

Much better eh? grin

MKDA Reptile made from UMK3 Reptile and MK2 Shao Kahn.
MK:A Sareena made from MK3 Sindel.

The Reptile one is rather impressive. However, the reptilian skin isn't consistent throughout the sprite. That and some parts aren't shaded enough (read as: too cartoony/bright).

Sareena on the other hand... the head just doesn't fit the rest of the look or feel of the rest of the sprite. The reason? Probably because you edited the head quickly and didn't put as much... thought into it. The lower half looks detailed and good, but the head just looks rough and unfinished and way more realistic/crisp compared to the rest of the sprite.

Hope my thoughts help..
Sareena's smile doesn't fit. It looks wierd on her. Otherwise it's another great sprite.

The shading on Reptile's rigt leg seems too bright, considering it's between his kneepad, and shin guard. His left shoulderpad seems to be in an odd position. Awesome job anyways.

sareena looks like a cartoon,and reptile semms to be hand-painted.

Reptile looks sick (good). He wouldn't fit well in an MK game but would look great in an 16-bit platformer.

Best MKDA 2D Reptile I've ever seen. Congratulations brother.

Sareena though, doesn't match her clothes. Her clothes look too cartoony compared to her very realistic face. Good job anyway, most people couldn't something as good as that anyway so.

yeah... not a big fan of Sareena either... the head looks amazing, but the rest of the body not so much... her arms look out of proporion, ther feet are awkward looking, and her top looks like two oversized plates.

Reptile is pretty cool... indeed the best MKDA reptile sprite out there

the sareena and reptile sprites are meh. yes, i'm back arctic.......and you now what i want.......{no, not that. perverts}
Yeah, didn't take a full look at Sareena before. Now that I've taken a better look, there's some concerns.

Her thighs' shading is overdone, and it looks like her legs have been pasted on her. Her arm, and torso shading also seems a bit too shallow.

wow those sprites in this thread were very nice - i liked how people hijacked the thread though. And some people in here are complete cunts - not going to mention any names but you could really do with growing up, just because your behind a computer screen doesn't mean you can down talk people.
