Scorpion - absolutley no blending, nothing really but just brushing.

My first attempt at using GIMP to make a signature. Having to use GIMP makes me miss having PS CS2 even more. I'm limited with brushes and text effects. The background was made with the help of a tutorial since I'm not familiar enough with the program to create my own yet. I don't think this is a master piece by any definition of the word, but for my first time using the program I suppose it could be worse. I also purposely used the maximum size MKO allows so I'd have a larger canvas to practice on. I'm open to constructive critiques from graphic artists here.

@Redman, even WITH just brushing, I felt the Scorpion one ended up looking really nice.

Blaze Sig

Dude, you don't use like any filters or anything. The scorpion one looks just weird. The blaze one, you just brush a few times, then add a render.
You need to look at some tuts. Then create your own style. By the way, pink-ranger, how did you do those effects? That looks pretty nice for a first time.

Redman the bg is from a tutorial I found and the effects are nothing more than filters and brushes.



My latest gimp creation. I know the hair is a disaster. I'm fond of the bg though. I'm gonna have to read up on text effects, maybe try to find some tutorials. I've searched through the program and I can't seem to find anything to enhance texts at all.

Awesome color scheme. Suggestion if i may? White text and a white outerglow. Works great for bg's like these.

By the way, click the Gimp FAQ tut by Megababe to learn how to install brushes. I think you would be much better.

Love them Jago. The first one is my favorite. I really like how the c4ds are used in the Taki one.

Speaking of signatures, I think I may make one soon but then nowadays, I am usually busy and I need a good idea. All in a nutshell I can currently in sig block.
