@ AwesomeTaco good to know, thanks.
Thanks so much man, very appreciated:) I need to get Photoshop soon, I've been using its ghetto cousin a.ka. Power Point
Your sigs are pretty amazing, your Freddy one (believe it or not lol) had one of my favorite background designs, it was simple yet awesome.
I also need to learn how to do my own cut-outs, it'll give me a lot more options.

You could also get Gimp. It's not as good as Photoshop but MUCH better then Power Point. It's free too.

Yuck.
I hate doing cut-outs. Especially when the backdrop isn't one solid color.
I suggest searching for .png's instead, it will save chunks of time.
I'm not sure how in the world you use PowerPoint for sig making, but if Photoshop is not an option, get GIMP.

It's possible though obviously highly limited. I also sometimes use the photobucket editing stuff in combination with that, it does have some things to add glow,shadows, and recolor things, but like I said it's nothing special.
I was glancing at the steps for doing cut-outs briefly earlier today, before I went to Adv. First Aid, it's going to be an amusing experience
I'll check it out, thanks so much for your help guys, much appreciated

The absolute best, and quickest way to do a cutout is to find a render with a solid colored background, doesn't matter what color it is. As long as the background is a different color than the image, for example, This image would not work, since the background is too close of a color to the render:

Once you've found a render on a solid (or mostly solid) color background, you can use the "Magic Eraser Tool" in Photoshop to easily clean out the background. You might need to duplicate the render on your signature and change blending options if it doesn't cut out the render perfectly. If you're cutting out an image that doesn't have a solid color background, it's good to usually start with the "Magic Eraser Tool" to see how much you can get rid of. If you're still left with a lot of excess material, use either a path tool to outline the render and remove it from the remainder of the image, or use a mask on the render and paint over the excess material with black to eliminate it. You can also use the "Quick Selection" tool followed by the refine edge option. With the refine edge option you can change the settings to get rid of excess selections or even add to the selections depending on which way you slide the various parameters. Whenever a render doesn't get cutout 100% the way you want, duplicating the layer and changing the blending options will hide the minor imperfections such as hair jaggies (very common problem). I'm still trying to get a lot better at rendering, but I think I'm better at rendering than I am at sig making. If you're using GIMP, I pretty sure there isn't a magic eraser tool though, so the path tool is the best method of rendering on GIMP.

@AwesomeTaco:
That Ermac sig is pretty good! I like the style of it.
@Cagedrage:
I like the experimentation of the second one with Robin and I like the feel that the first one has.
I've got to start experimenting with my own style. I've been playing around with distortion filters and blurs along with smudging, so we'll see what I can eventually create. Here's something I just made:
