The programming part of it was done with
Director 8.5
It's pretty easy if you know what you are doing I guess. It can get a bit confusing when you have a lot of stuff in it though.
All I used was basic code, very simple scripts.
I posted the scripts I used earlier, check out the posts above.
Art related work was done in Photoshop 7.0
Some things like the platform with the hands, I painted that by hand from nothing.
Other stuff I did was rip sprites from Mame screen captures, and editing sprites to get a different color, or look.
The sound was edited with premiere and Sound Forge
I used that to make perfect loops, and to edit sound effects and speech.
I used Mame to get screen captures of the animations.
I later cut the character sprites out with Photo shop.
To rip sounds from Mame, I used a program called "M1i" Don't ask me what that stands for, I don't know.
It let's me get all the sounds from Mame with Arcade Quality.

No problem
About the programming programs.
I hear Flash is supposed to be much better than Director, so you would probably want to get that one.
Director is pretty good too though.
You can do 3D stuff in those programs too. I don't know how, but I know you can.
