Little bit of both, really.

Y'know how the Greeks had the concept of "Muses", spirits who would visit artists and give them their ideas? That's a pretty apt metaphor for what it's like to be a content creator, at least from my personal experience, because I sometimes actually lose the ability to write or draw well, it comes and goes all on its own in a way I can't really explain or control.

I frequently try to art when I have free time but if the muse ain't there, it comes out shitty.

I completely know what you mean. I had some months where I had no energy or inspiration to draw anything, and then last week something surged through me and I made 7 drawings in 7 days... my hand has been in cramps since though, so taking a break from it. XD

So...apparently there's this dude on Twitter named @CustomsKombat who's using my Mileena design as an avatar and claiming he made it. I asked him nicely to give proper credit but he either didn't notice or ignored the tweet.

I don't wanna be a dick about it and ask you guys to unleash the hounds for me or something like that, and frankly I don't like to use twitter much myself so I'd rather not continuously be tweeting some nobody Spanish kid and start a bunch of petty internet drama, but the dude was even tweeting this pic to Boon, so like...that ain't right. I want my props, yo.

Damn, that sucks. I don't know how the people do this think they won't get found out. Unfortunately, I can't be any help here, lacking a Twitter.

Holy shit Blaze looks awesome! I remembered he was much muscular in the original canon.

Well everyone was bulky in the DA engine.

Blaze's job is to watch over the realms and look for signs that Armageddon is near, so in that respect, he reminded me of higher cosmic beings from Marvel and DC like the Watcher and the Monitors.
I guess in drawing his bodytype, I was inspired by another cosmic being who's just a smooth naked dude, the Silver Surfer.

Your take on the characters are awesome Razor. I would definitely like to read and see more of your work.

That is the best Blaze design I've ever seen, I love how his body looks like a mix of both his DA "normal dude on fire" and his MKA lava bodes.

I also like that little touch of adding Liu's headband to the Liu vs Shang screen from the MKII intro.

Well I did want to make sure he was dressed the way he is in the Razorverse script version of that scene. I had to recolor his shoes white too, lol.

Wooohoooo!!! Blaze looks amazing and I LOVE that you combined both his MKDA and MKA designs! Those shorts made of rock are fantastic,very creative! You just outdid yourself again dear sir! And those visions are awesome,especially Liu wearing the headband when he defeats Shang just like in your outline!

But I gotta ask,what are those armguards on him? Does it have to do something with Delia or highlight his imprisonment by Dragon King priests? My bet is on Delia,because the flamy red and yellow remind me of her design,but I might be wrong...

Hot damn, lol. Probably my favorite design to-date. The rock armor, the pose, the fiery footprints, the vision-like fireballs. Great stuff, really knocked it out of the park (and like another said, even the tiniest details like adding on Liu's headband and the white shoes . Though, please refresh me, what is the third visual on the bottom? Is it something part of Edenia? And I also see you've changed Kintaro's belt to red, just like you said you would. If anything, I actually like it better red now that I've seen both.

Curious, how is the script going? Writer's block at all?

I like to imagine that the flame design on them is Delia's logo, so they're either just decoration, or they might be magic power-limiters that when he takes off, cause him to transform into his Armageddon form.


My intention is to sketch him out some time this week, but I've also got an itch to work on some NPCs, so we'll see what happens.


The three globes depict the end of MK1, the Pit II stage, and the dragon egg he's supposed to be guarding.


I also added a slight decorative texture to Raiden's vest. I liked the one he's got on in MKX and it occured to me I already used one on both his MK1 costumes, so why not keep it going?


I'm just holding off on working on it until the MK2 costumes are done (alts included).

Amazing job with Jax and human Scorpion! I mean,I love that olive uniform fo Jax and Sonya,it just shows them as part of the same group that much more. That jacket is kickass! Also,Scorpion is pretty much the same as in MK1 alts,but you can see this is Scorpion BEFORE Sub-Zero encounter lol. He has untorn sleeves and his head on his shoulders lol.

Can't wait for unburned Black Deagons,Bo Rai Cho and Kung Lao! Are they the only one left or I am forgetting someone?

Great designs! I must admit, seeing Scorpion's whole arms covered up was a little odd at first, but then I realised it's just because in every costume he's ever had they've been showing. But I guess if you lived in Hell and your skull is always on fire under your face, covering your whole body must be hot as shit.

And your MK1 Jax is pretty much what I wanted for his MKDA alt back in the day instead of that... thing they gave him.

Who are going to be the NPCs in MK2?

Off the top of my head besides the ones who're already in MK1, it'll have roles for Cyrax (who I've obviously already drawn), maybe Hydro, USSF member Gemini will actually show up in person, Goro's father King Gorbak, Mokap, Rain...

...and the tournament will once again feature some non-canon characters dying in the first round. Their designs will be based on a couple Malibu characters, and these guys:

There's a scene on a Johnny Cage movie set. It will include a fellow named Carlos in a motion capture suit.
