Thumbs up mate, fan-tastic looks for all characters so far, my favourite is MKII Smoke Primary so far, but I was wondering are you just doing the fighting games (No small feat BTW) or are you going to do the adventure games as well i.e. Mortal Kombat: Special Forces and Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero, because personally i'd love to see No Face, Tasia, I know your doing Tremor for MK3/UMK3/MK:T, Kia, Jataaka, obviously your doing Sareena for MK:TE & MK:A, Water God (Suijin/Kumari), Earth God (Chijin/Ohona), Fire God (Kajin/Hinoka)

I do have plans to eventually do Special Forces and Mythologies characters, as well as some background characters like King Jerrod and Great Kung Lao. Not sure when I'll get around to them, though.

Yeah...I can promise you I won't be using any of those. You'll get Tremor in 3, Belokk in 4, and that'll probably be the end of it for rumor characters.
What about Monster for Deception?

Just one more question about your future MK3/UMK3/MK:T designs for Khameleon & Chameleon (My all time favs). What colour are you going to use for them e.g.

Khameleon= Gray, Torquoise (MK:A Render colour) or Multicoloured
Chameleon= Torquoise (MK:A Render colour) or Multicoloured

Well, I'll be doing them in both Trilogy-style (in Khameleon's case, that means silver, not multicolored) and MKA-style costumes, their primaries will be one and their alts will be the other. I'm not sure which the order will be yet though.

Considering I'm not even halfway done with MK2, probably quite some time. Like...a year or two from now, given my current pace.

:( What else do you have to do with MK2? I thought all the costumes were released.

EDIT: My bad. Forgot about the script outline.

Noob, Kintaro, Shao Kahn, Skarlet, Blaze, Hornbuckle, and alternate costumes for everybody yet remain before the art for MK2 is done.

I see. I just reread the MK1 outline, any chance of doing the MK2 one soon? I really really enjoyed the first one and i'm wondering WHY THE FUCK THEY DON'T HIRE YOU AT NRS? I'm not trying to disrespect NRS, but you have a lot of talent Razor! I really appreciate what you've done for this community and all you know about this game. I hope I can come by one day and you've finished every single game up to MK9, after the next 5 are released lol.

Really looking forward to what you come up with. I really really enjoyed the plot of MK1 and that SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE FUCKING MOVIE.

I seriously can't understand why NRS doesn't just look at two of your posts and say

"Oh my God, look at this guy. He knows everything about the story. OH! He's also doing costumes for them too! OH!!! He did alternate costumes as well. OHHHHHH!!!! He wrote a script outline that contains every single feature that makes it the best MK1 outline ever OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (Heart attack)".

Honestly, i'm not even trying to be funny. Your amazing at what you do and I respect that. I really appreciate all you've done and I don't think a lot of people do. This work is amazing and precious. Keep up the good work man. Really looking forward to your next ideas.

PS. Please make it like 3x longer cause I love long stories lol.
These are AMAZING! I could've sworn I'd commented on them before, cause I loved how Johnny looks like a cocky joker, juggling with that smirk. Deja vu, except you have more completed.

Kung Lao's bunny is so kawaii ^o^
Kitana, Baraka, Shang & Mileena look excellent. Faithful to their recent designs, purposfully executed. Love Jade's braid with the ring at the end. Reminds me of that mystic chick from PowerStone.

Freakin' LOVE the red camo on Jax's pants. Very cool/different, yet still keeps to his MKII pants/military history. Perhaps his alt could be the full outfit(matching top) from the MKII comic.

Smoke looks PERFECT. Love the ponytail, very ronin. Gasmask is fitting, unintrusive. The smoke effects behind him are also very pleasing to look at. I'd settle for a pic of just that stuff, it looks great. Excellent choice with the kuarigama. As stated in many arguments, it's different enough from Scorp, but still serves a similar function. You could reuse the ponytail on Fujin, if you ever get to 4.

So I've got a bit of an update...a very small one, mind you.

I'd been asked to do costumes for the NPCs and cameos who appear in my MK1 script outline, like Bo' Rai Cho, the other members of the Lin Kuei, the Black Dragons, etc. So I started throwing together some quick sketches. I didn't do individualized poses like I normally do since these were just supposed to be quick costume demos, but anyway, the first one is done.

So if you check the first post, you'll find a link to my version of Human Sektor.

You'll notice he's not all that different from the MK9 version, I just changed the details of his outfit to look more like Bi-Han's two costumes since he and Bi-Han have the most in common, both in personality and Lin Kuei rank...with a few touches from MK2 Sub and Smoke too. My goal was to combine the "decorative" from the primary with the "field-gear" look of the alt, since I figure the Grandmaster's son would wear his showiest stuff on a mission, Sektor's not really the stealthy type but he loves modern technology and practical weapons.
The biggest thing is, I designed a mask for him since taking the hood off is fine for a conversation with his fellow clansmen, but a ninja shouldn't fight with his face showing all the time. I wanted it to look very similar to his cyberninja helmet, so one thing I did was give him a big metal crest and his ponytail sticking out of the cowl just like Smoke has to keep them similar. Also note the two buckles on his belt and caution stripes on his flamethrowers, little nods to his MKA armor.

Human Cyrax will probably be very soon too since I have the lineart already drawn for him. After that, I'm not sure if I'll do another or try to get back to Noob Saibot for MK2...

Very very nice update on Human Sektor,I kinda envisioned him like you did. So small notes:

I like how you showed he is high-ranked Lin Kuei with tight suit (unlike Kuai and Smoke in your MK2) and with symbols of Lin Kuei in the same pattern as Bi-Han's costume has them.

The belt buckle is AWESOME! Flawless victory!

Overally,it is a very solid design and I gotta say you succeeded very much (especially like the boots that you borrowed from Bi-Han's alternate costume,it fits Sektor perfectly). But one thing that bothers me is the lack of red color in his tunic on right side, maybe make those edges red too,if you know what I mean? And Sektor's hair is blending with the black color of the hood, don't you think?

Yeah, except some color issues I stated (maybe I am colorblind, lol?),everything else is perfect, great job as always Razor! Looking forward to your Human Cyrax redesign!

Eh, not much one can do about that. The hood's gotta be black and his hair's gotta be black. To be fair, I did use a shade of very dark brown for the hair so it's not quite black, (it's the same color I used for Liu Kang's hair), but naturally it's very difficult to tell the difference. Can't be helped.

As for the tunic, I don't mind that the red is asymmetrical. I kinda like that Sektor wears his like a sash across his chest with a big ol Lin Kuei logo on it (in the exact same place he'd wear the Dragon Medallion if he were Grandmaster) instead of like a shirt.

These redesigns are the best I've seen around here.

I'm so glad you didn't put a bunch of god damned Bindis on your females' foreheads.

The only complaint I have his Kitana's costume color. Needs to be more on the blue side. It looks like you were going for a MK:DA style with that color and it looks just as bad as MK:DA with it.

See, I liked the MKDA costume, that was my favorite Kitana outfit to date. It was a little too purple, I'll agree, but I still think Kitana should be "indigo", not pure blue. Her and Mileena should be closer in color IMO since they're twins and there's an element of them trying to look identical to confuse their opponents that I want to evoke at least slightly. And the thing is, Kitana was a pretty dark, almost purplish blue in MK2 too. It's only after that, her color became this girly shade of sky blue that I really don't think suits her. Light blue is too much "princess", not enough "assassin", IMO.

Mind you, I have mentioned that people with flatscreen monitors say she shows up as purple instead on their screens, and Mileena shows up as pink. They're not supposed to be. So if you're on a flatscreen, that could explain some of it. What you might want to do is lower the gamma and brightness to get the true colors.
This is why I like box monitors better, you don't get that weird shit where the same pixel can look completely different just by standing at a different angle...

Yeah this honestly doesn't improve it by much. The only time I really notice the change in pixel color on my flat screen is if I am slouching in my chair or I stand up. Sitting normally everything is just about the same.

Oh well, color is no big issue here. The designs are fantastic.

Update to the first post: Human Cyrax added.

Commentary-wise, I don't have much to say about Cyrax, except that I deliberately designed his armor to look "generic", basically colorless versions of the standard-issue plastic gear MK1 Sub's primary wears, because my version of Cyrax is a very low-ranking member of the clan, a rookie straight-out-of-training in fact.

I want to depict Cyrax as a willing volunteer to the Cyber-Initiative, rather than actively opposing it like in MK9 and being captured off-screen. Opposing it and being hunted down is what Sub and Smoke are supposed to do, no one else should be stealing their shtick. (Besides, Cyrax complaining in MK9 that becoming robots would rob him of his chi and fighting skills is fucking ridiculous when he's the only Lin Kuei with no chi or powers. Hypocritical motherfucker already uses gadgets and weapons to fight.)
Cyrax, on the other hand, was depicted in the old timeline as only regretting it AFTER his malfunctioning programming led to him joining the OIA and he realized that he missed being human, meaning he was going along with it at the start.

So why would he agree to be one of the first two prototype cyborgs? Well I figure if he's a raw recruit, too low in rank to get away with disobedience, and the only member with no powers in a clan that normally only recruits the gifted - and therefore a guy with something to prove/a need to upgrade himself somehow, he's got a lot more reason to say yes. Though, he certainly isn't eager to be first in line like Sektor is, he knows deep down it's a bad idea but he's going along with it anyway 'cause he feels he has to.
Another reason I thought of to make him a rookie was it allows me to say he hasn't even been assigned a codename yet and won't get one until after he's automated, which makes "Cyrax" seem a lot less like gibberish and more like he was deliberately named a word derivative of "cyborg".

Awsomeness as usual Razor, I love how their masks look reminisant of their cyborg masks, like how Cyber Sub-Zero's mask took some design que's from Kuai Liang's Sub-Zero mask. Looking forward to some more updates, Stuntman perhaps, Dreadlocks Guy maybe? or more importantly The Lady In Purple for MKII hehe.
