I just recently picked up that '96 MKT Shao Kahn figure from Toy Island.

Now someone on a different forum said that there is a fully sculpted face under his mask. They also said if you can loosen the glue with like a hair dryer you can pop the helmet off.

My question is has anyone one here done that, and if so could you post a picture of the head?

I will find out and let you know as soon as I go back to my parents house where all my old toys are stashed.
(I could care less if this MK toy breaks, my cherished MK figures are the Hasbro ones)

I'd be surprised considering its never been posted before. Mine is Mint on card so I could tell you. I'm very curious though ;)

Part of wonders if Toy Island just used a sculpted head they already had. I mean it wouldn't make much sense, to me anyway, for them to sculpt half of a face.

I still can't wait blacksaibot's results.

Unfortunately I never made it to my parents house due to unforeseen obstacles...

...to be continued.

I noticed that Shao Kahn has a cape in this figure, something absent on him until MK Deception but on topic...
I'm pretty sure the glue is not loose on this. It's an entire head sculpt, but the face is the mask, as far as I know. But I don't have the product anymore, so i couldn't tell you. Maybe when blacksaibot gets a chance or if somebody else some along we'll find a real-life easter egg.

Kahn has a cape in MK3 concept art and the Defenders of the Realm cartoon.

I don't want anyone to think I've forgotten... it's just a 2 hour hike to my parent's house (plus the cost of paying tolls) and I've been so fucking busy. It won't be til probably mid August until I get the chance.

Thanks for your infinite patience.

Fear not! I am going to my parents house Friday and will be returning Monday! grin

Since I got married and I have my own house, I'm sure they will be expecting me to physically take all my old toys with me or throw them away. sad Talk about getting kicked out of the nest.

TA-DA!!!

Yes, I went ahead and sliced apart the mask with a carpet knife. I didn't feel like melting the plastic with a hair dryer.

lol! a woman... haha. I think its because they didnt bother to color the entire face in "detail" - so makes it look like he has on lipstick.

You so rock! Thank you so much. I may try to loosen the glue to just remove the entire helmet.

His face reminds me of the actor that played him in Annihilation, but with unpainted hair.
