Cage vs Goro filmed
I remember reading Linden Ashby's interview in Fanzine once saying fighting Goro was fantastic.. he had to swing his weapon, or place his kick at just the right moment.
Sounds like the epic battle from the book was filmed but scrapped

I think he means the fight in the novel, the book is much more fleshed out so it might be expanded

Goro was cool and intimidating in the movie, but is fight with cage left much to be desired.

It was a great strategy, and made for a wonderful read - but I don't think it would have translated well to the silver screen.
Essentially, he would run away from Goro, hide behind a statue, and then use his weapon (a long chain break) to break one of his wrists, until all four of Goro's arms were of no use to him. Once this was accomplish, it was a simple task to defeat Goro.

There was a scene that was filmed showing Cage doing a kata routine with a chain on the beach, but it was cut out.
The alternative Goro fight scene was never created, but it probably would've been better than what wound up in the finished product.
