Havik reformed the Black Dragon to help him ressucitate Shao Kahn. There wasn't a huge master plan in the works.

It was pretty straightforward :
1 - Get some thugs together
2 - Wait for the heroes to kill Onaga
3 - Steal his heart.

Havik wasn't just dealing with the new BD's, he was also in the middle of manipulating the whole war between Seido and Chaos, on top of
trying to bring down Onaga too. His goal (reviving Kahn) wasn't the "mastermind" part I was talking about, it's the manipulating of all the other characters.

Havik has never been a "big bad", he's always been a "Quan Chi type" character, lurking behind the scenes.

I don't rememeber Havik manipulating that much. He was nowhere to be found in the stories of Darrius, Dairou and Hotaru and Kabal, Kira and Kobra's stuff only talked about the same goal of getting Onaga's heart.

Not that I think the comics will have any real say in terms of who wont and will return...I always thought Havik, Drahmin (and to a lesser extent) Moloch were pretty cool, or at least cooler than most of the other characters first introduced in the post MK4 era...

Oh well lol I pretty much already came to terms with the idea of Drahmin and Moloch would never get another chance anyway, and we all know characters can come back ;)

Havik is who turned Darrius against Seido. Hotaru saw Havik as a HUGE threat to order. Those 2, Hotaru and Havik, were essentially the 2 heads of their respective sides of the battle.

Probably Scorpion.... Adding another incosistancy between comic and game. Would love it if it's Frost though! Although she is a cage fighter in the comic.

So Drahmin is dead? And they are playing it off as if a demon, dying in the netherrealm matters...okay there goes even more of my investment and fandom in the current state of MK.

I don't think Havik is all the way dead. Given that he throws his limbs around all the time, and we didn't see his body get snuffed out...I would assume he could just pick up a severed head and do this all over again.

Yeah.. As soon as he appeared in the comic I knew he was done for.

Not much to say on this chapter, tied up all loose ends and was nicely done. I still wish that Havik and Reiko didn't get shit on but it's whatever. If they want them to be back for next game, they will be. If not, I guess they're gone forever. Oh, and the art was fucking awful. these eyes tho lol

Don't forget Cassie transforming from sexy teenage bombshell to 50 year old transvestite over the course of three panels!

Thank you for the scans and...wow I am just. So the Oni Tormentor is done in by a punch. Yeah okay. Oh but not only that! But now! In this continuity he is nothing more than another revenant servant of Quan Chi in this continuity....

These were supposed to be two of the fiercest oni in the Netherrealm and they are done in by a zombie princess and Quan Chi. Fucking Quan Chi who knew of their power and bargained with them to protect him from Scorpion, then later was running from them as well...fuck. You.

Way to just keep condensing this universe and making it less and fucking less interesting. Hats off to every hack involved with this story.

Havik, Drahmin, Moloch.

But two of them are demons (and they're already in Hell) and one has been shown to regenerate.

Even if Havik is well and truly dead his soul is still sent into the Netherrealm.

Drahmin and Moloch were always henchmen. Quan Chi bargained with them because he was weak at the time after being in the Netherrealm for so many years and being drained of his magic due to Scorpion chasing him. Moloch and Drahmin are powerful Oni in the context of other Oni, but depending on the soul, a revenant can be objectively stronger. Revenant Liu, Lao, and Kitana are apparently more powerful / skillful than Drahmin an Moloch.

Pretty much this. Quan Chi is only faithful to those who can pull things off without a hitch. Added bonus being the revenants are like brainwashed zombies that obey his every command and the Oni still have their own thought process and free will, makes them less appealing to him as servants.

Yeah Quan Chi is weak in the Netherrealm and he needed protection because Scorpion only got stronger the longer he was there. Moloch and Drahmin were never Quan Chi's creations though or his loyal servants. They were creatures who were only controlled by their function and nature in the Netherrealm and their desire for torment. The only reason they aided Quan Chi was because he made an offer that appealed to their sadism. That he could get them out of the Netherrealm and introduce them to mortals where they could torment new fresh souls. When he betrayed them though even when he was in Outworld they proved to be forces he would very much not like to deal with. And when they got their hands on him, things did not go so well for Quan Chi.

The lore of Moloch and Drahmin built them up as these nightmarish horrific beings in the Netherrealm. And Kittlesten (however you spell his name) reducing them to revenant lackeys here...really pisses me off. Note Drahmin is one of my favorite MK character so of course I am pissed.
