i have a theory that the black guy liu kang fought in his first battle of mk was cyrax, before he was automated. this would also explain why he doesnt appear in mka as he was killed by shang tsung.

You do know who that "jamaican" was right?
He's one of the best martial artist in the world ,just in case you didn't know,or hadn't seen him on martial arts programs around that time.heheh

He was Hakim Alston, and I seriously have no idea how ANYONE in the world could EVER think that Hakim's character was Sektor, EVER. His character was credited as ''The Fighting Monk''. He wasn't even a yellow ninja.
And Cyrax was in MKA.
Or maybe you meant sektor, but no matter, because he was still credited as the fighting monk, and he was not a red ninja.
And Sektor was never black/jamaican before the mk movie (infact, he was only black/jamaican in MK DOTR, which came out after the movie).
And what do you mean ''before he was automated''? If he was killed, he could never have been automated because he was dead.
This theory makes no sense.

Exactly Lambertforever, Cyrax does not have a soul, and i say this to every 1 who says "OH BUT HE'S DEAD" because if you watch cyrax's ending in mk gold you find out he does not have a soul!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, Cyrax does have a soul because you can perform Shang Tsung's soul steal fatality on him, not to mention he's half human(with a 'personality' and everything) in MKDA. If he didn't have a soul, he wouldn't move. But he does move. Not only does he move, he even makes choices.
He has a soul.
But anyway, we're talking about the movies here. And the games aren't 100% like the movies. The fighting monk wasn't Cyrax(or Sektor, the guy meant sektor for sure) because the fighting monk DIED. His soul was taken. And he was credited as the fighting monk.
Jesus christ, this theory is just plain nonesense.

I do agree this theory is stupid... but I also know that Cyrax and Sektor do not have souls. It even states it in Sub-Zero's bio. "The ninja returns - unmasked! Betrayed by his own clan, the Lin Kuei, be broke the sacred codes of honor by leaving his clan and is now marked for death. But unlike the ninja of old, Sub-Zero's pursuers are machines. He must not only defend himself against the Outworld meance, but he must also elude his soulless assassins."

at the end of mkg, cyrax was revived and joined the special forces. the word "soulless" simply means they arent "human like" anymore. they were basically brainwashed and programmed...unless the machine that he was hooked up to just gave him a soul..lol.
soulless is just a fancy way to tell his story.
