In the games he throws the spear(s). In MK:Mythologies Scorpion was said to be a master of shuryuken, or throwing weapons.

I prefer the throwing. IMO, it's kind of goofy that Scorpion would have this weird creature or creatures living in his hand.

i think he shoots it, more like let's it go cause that creature has a mind of it's own - that's why he yells GET OVER HERE! at first i though he calls that to his enemy, but when i saw him yell it out after the thing was all stretched out and it didn;t hit it's target i figured he actually talks to that snake like creature. i guess it doesn't really hurt when it comes out since he;s not human. imagine what'd be like if he let that thing come out while he's choking some1. the creature would probably come out thru the other side of the victim's body. that would be one badass shot. i don't think it's gay at all having that thing in his hand.

and about the creature feeding, well it's part of scorpion's body so it gets fed when scorpion does. besides it always takes a nice bite out of it's victim so i don't think it's starving. lol

Anyway think of it this way. If he throws it, he can miss. If it comes out of his hand, the creature will follow its opponent giving you more of a chance to hit him/her.

i'm glad u guys like my ideas. and about the snake creature following it's target - it can't just stretch forever can it? i should probably watch the fight vs. johnny cage in the first movie. u're right though, it does chase it's victim.

I personally like the movie version. Him having a serpent type creature that comes out of his hand, IMO, just fits really well with what Scorpion is... A deceased Ninja with powers from hell. Speaking of that, there's an interesting question. Scorpion vs Spawn anyone?

I agree. I like the movie version better.

hum, scorpion vs. spawn. MK is one of my fav series and scorpion is awesome, but spawn's powers are a lot greater. he can heal, he has those chains, he can turn invisible, climb walls, and not to mention a truck ran him over and the truck blew up. um, scorpion would have a tough time. i'm not a spawn fan, i wish scorpion would win- but his powers don't really match spawn's

I'd like the style the first movie had with one. because he was dead and not humand. but the second movie, with scorpion's spear has two creature I said that is bull shit. It was not even realistic. At least the first movie was a little bit believable. However, if the third ever comes out they need to make it where he throws a blade spear kind of like the blade from Deadly Alliance. That would make a better impact in the movie because it is a blade that everyone can relate to.

Personally.. i like Spawn and Scorpion both, but im more of a Spawn fan, cause i mean, c'mon! you got an guy who has an incredible reputation for his skill in killing then is tortured and killed and sent to hell only to become a hellspawn, coming back to "life" with powers and armor that act purely off of your instinct and imagination....Im sorry, Scorpion wouldnt stand a chance against Spawn. Oh yeah... and i prefer the Serpent coming out of Scorpion's hand more.. cause it fits the whole dead ninja coming back from hell image or whatever..i mean, this is mortal kombat.. if we wanted something realistic and something we could relate to.. we wouldnt be watching or playing this series

just so u know it was said from the start that scorpion throws in the video games and has the creature in his hand- this thread was for people to choose which one they thought was better. i personally like the creature better, and if u don't - well read my posts on this topic and maybe u'll change your mind

I have a feeling that if Scorpion were to face Spawn, he would have equally as much chance as Spawn of winning. See, remember how Scorpion could like teleport from one end of the arena to the other or something like that and hurt the enemy in the process? Well, he could use that against Spawn because he could just teleport all over the arena like a maniac then when Spawn's invisibility gets ruined, he could use the snake thing to wrap around Spawn's neck and Spawn will either be trying to chain Scorpion and then while he's choking Spawn run around him really fast, confuse him while he chokes him, or be trying to turn invisible but won't be able to escape. Wow. That would be awesome. Ooh, ooh. The fight would finish with "Fatality" written in bloody letters! W00T! Personally, I would be changing who I cheer for every round. After the first one, I'd be like "Spawnie, Spawnie, he's our man, if he can't do it no one can! Yaaaaaaaay, Spawnie!" I'm a fan of both Scorpion and Spawn, along with Reptile, Sub-Zero, Smoke(duh. *in both forms), Noob Saibot, Ermac and Rain. W00T!

I prefer the spear. Notice that in MK1-4 he throws out a handy weapon, while in MKDA the spears rope already comes from his palm armor. The possibility is that every time Scorpion is more infused with hells powers, the more the spear assimilates into his body.

Actually in ALL the MK games he just throws it. It wasn't until MK5 that they actually showed the spear hanging from his belt before throwing it. Before then it just appeared when he threw it.

That's the way it was supposed to be but in the movies they take liberties with the characters to make them better fit the film. Though the hand creature thing was pretty much pointless. I think it looks stupid coming out of his hand. It wasn't AS bad in the first as it was in the 2nd movie but still stupid.

Actually on a MKDA picture it is shown, that the rope disapears in his forearm bracers palm section. Maybe it isn't assimilated into the hand, but rather the rope runs behind the plate that covers his forearm.

I like throwing better. The snake looked wrong in the movie, horrible animation when it came out whan they first appeared on the shipdeck.
