As everyone knows by now, Elissa Cadwell was originally cast as Nitara. However, for reasons still unknown, she was replaced by Mel Jarnson. Elidda Cadwell has no official credits in the film to date and rumors speculate about her footage not being included, from reports of creative differences to even injuries on set knocking her out of the role.

Today Elissa Cadwell, and without acknowledging her involvement in the film, uploaded her new stunt reel to Instagram. In it is the original footage depicting her as Nitara. As you will see, they made a great choice doing away with another Steetfighter-inspired character design.

You can view it here and if it gets deleted I'll gladly upload it somewhere else: https://www.instagram.com/p/COktLhipSoq/

She was replaced for the same reason why they left out Johnny Cage. She was too white so they replaced her with an Ariana Grande lookalike because that's more "progressive"...
Producer Todd Garner: "Garner also argued that it was right not to feature Cage in this first film as he wanted to keep the focus on MK‘s Asian characters rather than injecting a “white male lead” kind of figure into the plot"
