Looks okay, but you can't really tell how good the quality is because of YouTube's compression. The Canadian Blu-Rays looks like upconverted DVDs and used MPEG-2, so they didn't look so great. Hopefully WB gives these proper treatment with a new transfer and MPEG-4.

Also hoping the Blu-Ray has DTS audio, since DD5.1 really dumbs this movie down, in my opinion.

Wait a second....

*watches a second time*

They cut out the scene where you can see the car drive by in the background! LOL

I know it's on my normal DVD version of it, but I didn't see it in that video.

Well, the Canadian published MK for Blu-Ray looks great.

Annihilation not so much, because it's weird, the occasional scene has a LOT of graininess and stuff.

But MK1 looks awesome, so fear not, it's gonna look awesome.

There was actually some CGI that I didn't even know was CGI until I saw it in HD. Like the sails on Shang Tsung's boat, were CGI. Also, the fight between Cage and Goro on the mountain, when they're fighting from far away, that's all CGI, which makes sense, considering how well Goro moved around in that fight, but yeah, that's all CGI.

But still, very enjoyable.

I have had the disc from Canada for a year and while it's not the most jaw dropping transfer it is still leaps and bounds better than the dvd. My only gripe was the fact there was no dts master audio which I am sure the Warner disc will have. I will still keep the disc even when i get the new one cause usualy when an offical release comes out an alliance blu is discontinued. Collector's Item baby

It made me look at all the fighting scenes again in the first movie with the favorite being the Liu Kang vs Reptile. Real good fight, followed by Scorpion Vs Cage. I still have the VHS and get nostalgic everytime i put it in and opening credits starts playing that MK Techno song.

Ah boy, brings back memories....how could it have gone so bad in the second movie? Was it a different director or something?

This link looks way better than my VHS quality, I'll tell you that much! lol

Same here. I pre-ordered the Warner discs for both movies, and will still keep the ones I have.

The DVD quality was awful. Just awful. I mean, even compared to my other DVDs, the MK DVD was closer in quality to VHS, almost like they actually transfered it FROM the VHS. Although that's probably not the case, since VHS doesn't show true frames. Still, the picture quality itself was pretty bad.

Watches the scene with his 20/10 eyesight. wink

At :56-:57 it appears that there's someone walking in the woods deep in the forest. Put your eyes at the shaded tree smack dab in the middle of the screen and there's a figure walking to the left.

At :58-1:00 there's a car heading to the left. Scan the horizon line where the left most tree in the foreground is and you'll find it.

Yes, but Paul WS Anderson still wrote the second movie's script.

That's... Not true at all. Paul Anderson didn't even rite the first movie, he just directed it.
Annihilation was written by Brent V. Friedman and Bryce Zabel (screenplay, and Lawrence Kasanoff and Joshua Wexler (story).

Anderson had absolutely nothing to do with Mortal Kombat apart from directing the first movie.

WHAAAT? OMG *double-checks* This legit just blew my mind. I TOTALLY thought he wrote them seeing as how the second RE film (which was written by him, I know that for sure) has the same gimmick of happening right after the first movie ends (and is shit compared to the first one).

Yeah, but changes to the script happen all the time during filming. It probably WAS his idea to end it with that same 'cliffhanger' gimmick, but whoever came up with it, no doubt it something that was thought up during the actual filming. The original script ended differently, with no cliffhangers. But since he DID decide to end it like that, the new writer obviously had to work with what was given, which is why Annihilation just picks up from that.
