I dont wanna put a downer on things, but lets be honest with ourselves, there will never be an mk3, or at least in the near future, if there was , then surely an official announcment or something from new line or threshold would have been announced,. its now been 7 years since annihilation, so MK3 looks more and more unlikely!, I hope thats not the case but is seems to be the way its gonna be

You may be right but what about what people said about Linden Ashby wanting to do it now b/c he read the script? Or was that made up by somebody?

I think you need to open your eyes up a little more and put forth more study before you come to such a hasty comment.

The Linden Ashby thing is real. I saw the show he was on (the official Show website had him as a guest) and he did comment on MK3's script being good. Not only that, but the OFFICIALS over at mortalkombat.com (despite the site appearing rather dead) has updated with an open email-box asking for suggestions for the next movie.

In your paragraph of ranting and rambling did you never give any solid reasons on why MK3 woukdn't be in production. It's been 7 years since MKA, so what? Terminator was shot in 1981, Terminator 2 was in 1992, and Terminator 3 was in 2003. I wasn't aware there was a chronological ruleset in which movies and their sequels had to be released.

Pretty much what Shinnok said. Infact, it's probably the best post I have seen in ten years.

The fact that u get ur info from the 'threshold' makes me want to hit you, that site is as bogus as ur post, hell they update it once a year, and it still refer's to MKDA as MK5, so how bout u read some posts here and do ur research next time.

Hey blade-tsung, sorry to break it to you, but the Threshold are the people who make and produce the MK movies.

well i happpen to have read on another site that the mk3 moive is in "post-production". whether thats true or not, you can definitely expect a new mk movie sometime within the next 18-24 months possibly sooner.

Filming begins in Nov on MK3. so we could expect at least a teaser by early next year. At least actors from the 1st film will be back.

Filming was supposed to start on 17 different dates this and last year. I don't think the movie will get made between now and 2006.

DarkHorizons.com had posted like a week or 2 ago bout MK3 being filmed this Nov....and it would make sense to do it so it could be released the same year as MK6.

As much as I want there to be an MK3 movie I don't believe there will be either.

Well that would be an ignorant thing to do, because Linden Ashby has confirmed that they will start shooting in November.

I hate to be a negative nancy, but I don't see this happening anytime soon. I remember I was in 9th grade when I heard that there was going to be a 4th Ninja Turtle movie. That was 8 years ago. I can think of lots of films that were "going to start filming in a few months." PR people just say thoughs things to look optimistic. Thats why you never hear them saying, "Yeah, the script looks like crap, we don't have very good actors, and this movie is going to bomb."

i have to agree with Shinnokxz i mean just casue is been along time since the last movie doesnt mean there wont be another one. Take Star Wars for example, it was along time before they made a new movie.

no, we don't know that the movie is going to come out anytime soon. It very well might not.

Doesn't mean there won't 'ever' be a new MK movie. Just that it MIGHT not come out anytime soon.

dont forget about that stacy dash thing where she said in an interview on i think e maybe...interviewer:"What will you do next?" Stacy:" I cant say much but i am going to be doing a lot of fignhting and my character's name is tanya.

and if that isnt enough look at this...

look at the resemblance,

think before you speak next time.

Shinnok couldn't have used a better reference for sequels coming out way after the previous movies. MK3 movie will always be possible until whoever suppose to make it says the project is dead and even then a lot of movies go from being dead to the next box office hit like Freddy vs. Jason which was suppose to come out about five years ago.

Oh yeah I love Stacy Dash whole lot, but I don't think she would be good in a top knotch action movie like MK.

And I wouldn't want to see my girl get injured or killed either.

Why would anyone make another MK film? No one except maybe some of us at this site would be even remotely interested in it. They aren't going to make a film for people.
