Linden Ashby on Prom Night

This weekend I saw Prom Night and Linden Ashby plays the uncle in the movie.
I hadn't seen him since he did that interview with the "Soap Opera" channel and I think he's a REALLY REALLY good actor, but he looked pretty old on Prom Night. Since all the original actors probably look older, do you guys think that we'll expect a WHOLE new cast?
As much as I LOVED Linden Ashby as Johnny Cage, I think he looks too old for the part now and I picture someone that looks more like Torch from Fantastic Four to play the role of Cage.

I'd like to see a no named actor play the role for cage if there were to be another mk movie.Ashby was in resident evil 3 and i didnt even know that until i saw the credits. But I don't think hes to old but I don't think he fits the part anymore, with all due respect to him of course and he probably understands this to.

Was he in Resident Evil: Extinction? Who did he play?

He played a guy named Chase.

He turns 47 (!) in May. In all honesty, it'd be ridiculous to recast him as Cage if he were to return for the third movie, if there actually will be one.

OMG, he's old and tired. He actually had wrinkles. He is NOT Johnny Cage anymore.

Here's the weird part: Resident Evil Apocalypse marked his first big-screen appearance since the first MK. Heck, what's a twelve-year wait?

That guy would be fantastic. He even looks a bit like Linden Ashby did back in the day.

i'm not so keen in getting all these gay looking model type blokes to play Johnny Cage. Considering the character is based off Jean Claude Van Damme, i suggest get a real Martial Artist to play the part. Somebody unknown who can make a name for themself.

as you can see on his IMDB profile he is a martial artist too

In all honesty, it doesn't matter if whoever's picked to play Cage is a terrific martial artist if he doesn't have the acting chops to go with it.

What about this guy?

He is Brad Allan and he is in Jackie chan's stunt team! He made his big debut on the movie "gorgeous" of Jackie Chan? What do you think? he's a litle short but he's damn quick!

I would like to point out that an actor can be trained to follow choreography in just a couple months.
A martial artist can NOT be trained to act in that short a time.

Indeed.
Especially for a role like Johnny Cage, who I think should do more talking than fighting.

That's a great point. After all, that IS what he's famous for.

I had no idea who Linden Ashby was when I first heard he was cast in the original MK. Only when I saw the movie did I realize that he fit the part perfectly.
It's going to be quite difficult to fill his shoes.
