The problem with new dawn as i said before is, that it's too much like Annihilation. Nobody wants to see Rayden go and consult with Gods, he's supposed to be mysterious and powerful. In the first movie we just knew he was a God and had authority, then in the 2nd he was talking to higher Gods and consulting with them asking questions, it seemed stupid. The other problem is, a new dawn is also alot like the TV show Conquest, which in turn was a complete ripoff of those Hercules and Xena Tv shows except with MK characters. So having something like a ripoff of a bad movie and TV show which was a ripoff of other lesser Tv shows wouldn't seem to hold up very well, atleast in the eyes of the fans of the first film.

It looks everyone's skeptical on MKAND the film. Honestly, I am too; It could be really good, or even worse than MKA. Still, I did see some impressive fan made movies (like the Batman one). I guess we'll just have to wait and see. The concept art is amazing, so that's a plus (at least we could tell the costumes aren't gonna be crap).

you know what, it probably will be a good fan film, if they can convey everything in the script well. Hopefully they have access to some digital efx. At the very least it will be entertaining on some level.

BHSLF is right -- there is no way this could work. It's not like this is some animated feature like the Batman fanfic, this requires many more resources than that, which I won't even list here. Not to mention the script isn't even a script. A proper script requires a heading above and below each and every scene describing where and when each scene is taking place.

And this next comment is not to be taken offensively by the writer, but it seems as if it was written by someone who had an hour to kill and decided to write a story. The idea may be good, but in order to be filmed it would HAVE to undergo some serious/proper rewriting.

As for the copyright thing, they would most likely not get away with this, regardless of whether or not they were making money. Look at this DJ Dangermouse guy who just came out with The Grey Album (the music of the Beatles' White Album combined with the vocals of DMX's Black Album), he's not making a cent off of it and yet he's being sued up the wazoo.

I understand the prospect of a "good" MK movie is pretty exciting, but it's time to get real.

Oh, and as for the costume art that has been released it can hardly be called "amazing." I'm sorry but it looks to me as though one of those overzealous teenage girls who like to constantly draw people on their school binders drew them.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but if this is made, don't get yourself too overexcited, because chances are it will just be plain bad.

ALL RIGHT!!! I'm tired of all you guys raggin' on the script, ok? I'm the director. My name is Jon Peterson, I'm a Senior at Galesburg High School in Galesburg, Illinois. I'm doing this for my high school Film & Video class, but I'm filming the entire movie to be posted on the Mortal Kombat Revolution web site. I am making NO money off this whatsoever. I read the script one night, thought it was cool, and asked for rights to film it. Yea, since this is a high school film project, it will not have the best costumes, or the best lighting, or anything like that. This was meant to be a fun project made by MK fans, for MK fans, so grow up, and take it for what it really is!!

Any movie sounds good when its being made but after the horror of MKA, Im not going get hyped about this film and wont make any judgments about it until I see it.

Why are comic books getting big budget films with top notch actors? Look at all the Marvel comic films that came out.

I read a lot of reply's on this MK AND topic and i was saying to myself "hey these people are right!" But when i heard wat pheonix had to say i was like "You tell 'em Pheonix." I read this script wen it had just came out and i had things i liked and things i didnt like, but thats ok becuz not EVERYthing is HOw u want it.

Wen i heard MK AND was being filmed, i was SOOOOOO happy. (at first i thought i was a feature film, but oh, well.)

The thing i didnt like is that ALL these people are talking BAD about this movie wen it's not even out yet. Instead of JUDGING it we shud THINK of ideas that wud make it cool and be supportive about it! I'm supportive. If ya dont wanna watch it, dont watch it. Plus, you guys r talking about the costumes. In the first MK movie, the ninja costumes were not even that immpressive. They were all the same except different colors. Oh, well, this movie Might not be perfect, but im still going to watch it and im going to be supportive. Instead of being so judgmental about it it, y not give good ideas that can make it cool.

Jon, or Phoenix, or whatever you want to be called, you have to understand that the information that I was basing my arguments on was gathered from a site that obviously did NOT include all the facts. Had I known that a high school student was filming this for a project, my immediate response would have been, “Good for you, have fun making it.” But you must realize that when presented with the little, and, obviously, misleading, information that I had available to me on the subject, I used my common sense to thisthingisdisableduate the situation and state my opinion in a respectful way.
Now that I know you’re making it for school, I think it’s an awesome idea for a project, and I would have jumped at the chance to film something that I had such a passion for when I was in high school.
As for us raggin’ on the script, the fact is, it’s weak. If I were you, I would email the author and ask to make whatever changes you see fit.

First of all, Sonic buddy, calm down and take some typing classes
Secondly, I find it MUCH easier to believe that a high school student is making a movie out of a fan made story than a Hollywood producer or whatever
Also, if a producer ever DID look at the story and want to use it for a film, he would rewrite (or hire someone to rewrite, or whatever)the story into script form and call it something else, thus avoiding any potential lawsuit

Hi, I am Shinnokxz. I run and maintain the Unofficial Mortal Kombat 3 movie page, hosted here at MK Online.

You've got to realize something here; we've been through years of false rumors and facts about the third MK movie. Fan fictions haven't really been a priority or interest in this group. Moreover, I AM (I can't speak for the whole group here) sort of fed up with anything about MK: AND. Ths is because of two reasons:

1) Me and the MKR webmaster (mk revolution, mk master, whatever) haven't been entirely on the same page through the years, and

2) I get over 20 emails a WEEK referring me to the MKR MK: AND section from people who think this is the third MK movie! The e-mail count has now decreased at all since I even put a disclaiming saying otherwise at the top of each of my pages. This is a personal pet-peeve of mine since making this MK3 page.

With MK3 so close, you got to realize that we have bigger things on our mind. When everyone is anxious about the next big movie, a little fanfic that's going to be directed by some High School student is going to get some flak. Your best way is to keep on going and take the criticism like an adult (not coming on here and insulting everybody).

This isn't a personal attack or anything, I'm just simply posting here to show you the big picture (no pun intended).

Personally I like the script, it has problems for sure,but it is the best script I've read by a MK fan (I've read countless Fan Fiction's, and this kills em all).

I'm actually glad there is no budget; This means we'll see great acting and good fights, which MK never really had. Good Luck!!!
