Well, if you ask me, I am getting sick and tired of all this BS on Cartoon Network. Its time for something new that is full of action. So what would you think of an MK cartoon? No, not like MK Defenders of the Realm, but more like DragonBall Z style or Samurai Champloo. Kind of like an anime/manga. The MK Cartoon could follow the MK Comics that were made, or it could go back to the Great Kung Lao and show the tournaments past, possibly even as far back as when the Elder Gods recognized Earth and the saga of the One Being. It could follow the video games storyline from the beginning (MK1) to the end (MKA). It can have the full MK package, touching base on everything in MK.
So what do you think?
So what do you think?

Its MK, they will make the best of it I am sure. Since there has not been many MK cartoons, let alone movies and shows.

Any Mortal Kombat cartoon would be great! They could do the storylines starting from the first game on and include all the later characters in the first stories as to what they were doing while in hiding (i.e. Jade, Smoke, Khameleon, etc.)

Yeah, it would be nice to see our beloved MK as a cartoon. Actually, you all have great ideas, but for some reason I am pulling more toward the games storyline as ShaoKahnsBoyfriend stated.

No, as long as they put it on late at night, during adult swim, it won't be censored.

Ok an cartoon MK show is a great idea...but not DBZ style please. I love DB and DBZ but the style just wouldn't fit MK. Perhaps something along the lines of Gargoyles (not counting the Goliath Chronicles), Inuyasha or even Princess Monoko (sp?). Have the over the top action and great voice acting but please try to make it not too dumbed down. Many of the characters are actually suppose to have an IQ,, Edit: Just a thought do it Nick style (Danny Phantom, Fairy Odd Parents)....No, thought not. Anyways....(j/k)

I would love to see a new cartoon exspecially after watching that opening for Armageddon, wow that was awesome imagine one did in CGI like that or the old Starship troopers show.
Thats one of the things that has amazed me about this franchise that despite its popularity the only way you can enjoy this franchise is through video games, I cant believe their isnt a universe of comic books being done, yes a universe not one book, because theres just so much , too much for one book to be done. There should be several books and thier should be a Mortal Kombat universe of comics out there
there should be a cartoon, as well ( sorry to get off topic) it should be supported by a toy range and a comic book
just crazy that we can enjoy this in another medium other than vidoe games

I agree ttally. I love the games, but I need another MK outlet too. I like DOTR back when it was on. I loved the first movie and I love Conquest. Threshold needs to get off their asses and milk the MK license for what its worth.

Yeah, I agree. Gargoyle style would be awesome! I forgot all about that.
To HellrazerHD: Sci-Fi channel would work, its MK, it would fit.

I thought of an anime-styled cartoon, but not with all that European look. Something more true to the spirit of the series and less girlish, like a Katsuhiro Otomo or a Mamoru Oshii work.
And yes, it'd cycle through the series, truly to the game nature. But no dead points in the story, please. I wouldn't like to see another Dragon Ball with more than 500 episodes (even though it rocked until nearly halfway into DBZ).

I actually began thinking up the story for an animated series that's a saga like dbz however an anime look might not look good with mk but animation like the concept art with the fighting style like fist of the north star or the Tekken anime I should be posting a script on fan submission in maybe a week or two

I would love to see the animation in the style that John Tobias did his sketches. Very comic book like:

The idea of a chronicle to an epic saga works in theory, but when it comes down to it, would we get a season of Raiden and Shinnok in their thousand year battle for Earthrealm or would we get a single episode out of it?
Would it jump from character to characters as Shujinko starts his quest while Liu Kang works his way through the first two MK tournaments? or would it be a season of Liu Kang in the tournament and seasons down the road, would there be a season where Shujinko starts off his journey?
I would have something more to say on children's programming, but this would strictly not be for children even if so many of MK's other ventures are for children. Mortal Kombat Stage Show (I can't imagine a pair of 20 year old guys saying lets go see the MK stage show), comics, card games, action figure vehicles (action figures are collectables, vehicles are for kids).
Science fiction and cool characters appeal to kids and teens far more than adults. Adults prefer identifiable things, strange situations, twists and turns, even if they are for the sake of a twist and turn oh and they prefer violence in terms of horror and gore.

I watched MK The Journy Begins. It sucked .they said it was in 3-D but that was only the fights they showed. It didn't show any blood! The y made MK seam like a kid game .

0
That would be awsome, but.... with all the angry parents not wanting there kids to watch it. It might get shut down. BEcause what would Mortal Kombat be without gore and liters of blood!

Perhaps a channel like Encore Action could broadcast it? They show some of the more bloody and/or perverted animes (not the extremely bad ones but bad enough).
