Check it out

I love it, and they actually pronounced Sindel right! (0:35) Everything is perfect in this episode.

Now THIS is how you fucking tell Kitana's origin story!

PERFECT

PS: Jerrod is still a fucking douche for abandoning his wife and child. Kagemusha my ass.

Ahh...them letting Jerrod live in the first half paid off surprisingly well in the second. Clever.

Couldn't agree more! This is probably my favorite episode so far, the animation is perfect this time! And they ACTUALLY pronounced Sindel right when re-capping the last episode at the 0:35 mark!

Had a feeling that's what Jerrod's fate was gonna be.
Wonder what happens next week.

Good episode but if you put episode one and two together, it might actually be 10 minutes, these episodes are getting shorter and shorter :(.

I also love the fact that they picked actors/actresses who actually has martial arts experience

Don't really care if they're 10 minutes or 10 hours, I'll take anything at this point that doesn't resemble Annihilation.....I think I just vomited a little saying that word.

It works well.

Personally,I would've preferred if Kitana unraveled the truth about her heritage very slowly and gradually. At some point, she starts to ponder about all of the slaughter she's been doing in the name of her father. She suddenly notices that the misshapen ruins were once beautiful Edenian architecture, she hears some rumors here about the Old King who ruled these lands before Shao Kahn came here or something... From tiny seeds of doubt, curiosity arises, and little by little, she starts digging around, spends days in the archives reading ancient scrolls and such... It would take years for her to comprehend the reality of her situation.

At least that's the way I would've done it.

But I want to stress that considering the restrictions of the webisode format,Tancharoen did a marvelous job.

That was great. I've enjoyed all these episodes so far. But...

Questions!

What did Sindel's suicide accomplish?
How did Kitana 'seek the truth' by...staring at her crib?

I'd like to believe that due to Sindel being a part of her soul because of the suicide, she was able to reveal the truth to her when the time was right.....which was them.

again not feeling it. the cartoon vignette stuff is fine; they should have stuck entirely with that because every frame of live footage is akin to a syfy channel movie. episodes 1-3 were good, 4-5... mixed opinion.

and as someone else noted, do we really need 1:30 of recap footage, then over a minute of credits? the actual clip is under 6mins.

This episode was my favorite so far due to character bias lol. Anyone else like Kitana and Mileena's outfit's in the animated vignettes? Seriously why couldn't NRS make something like that?

Sindel's suicide placed her soul next to Kitana's in Kitana's body. his means Kitana may have access to some of Sindel's memories and thoughts, and that's what drove her to go to her room and recall all those things.

Predictably so.

Stylewise this is so far the stylistic highpoint of the series. Edwardian architecture mixed with the oriental? I am sold.

If Scorpion vs Sub will be akin to chambara, i declare this the single most valuable part of the MK mythos overall.

Well, I guess this one shuts down anyone who said last week that they HAD to do the training scenes as animated vignettes because it would be OMG too haaaard to find girls who had martial arts experience. That was an awesome fight scene.

I liked this part much better than the first part. Less narration and more acting.

I don't think it was clever. I think we all saw that one coming from a mile away.

Nah, I honestly expected them to fuck Jerrod up by having him survive beyond these webisodes, and like become a character in whatever comes next.

Seeing Kitana and Mileena themselves sent to hunt him down so Kitana gets to watch her own father die was a pleasant surprise.

I definitely enjoyed it.

I find it weird how the Legacy episode is almost exactly the same as the "old canon" which people loved from MK2, while the new MK2011 game retconned Kitana and Mileena's relationship and storyline away into an entirely new direction.

I prefer the original storyline, of Kitana discovering the lies her "father" has told her all her life on her own, much more than a painfully forced monologue from the game. "But Father!" "I'm not your father. I killed your father and married your mother. I would have killed you too had she not told me that you're awesome. But she's dead, so screw her. I created a clone now because, hey, that's how I roll and she's even evil. Sure she doesn't look a thing like you because she's got teeth like a crocodile, and you probably would have stayed loyal to me if I hadn't just confessed all this to you, but screw it. 10,000 years of love and service? Bah. Watch me needlessly destroy all that in the span of 45 seconds."

Here it is a much slower build. The seeds of doubt planted in Kitana's mind. The way Kahn promotes and goads on the rivalry between each sister. It's much more interesting, dynamic, and believable. Very well done.

And I ABSOLUTELY wish there was an option for the type of outfits seen during the animated sequences to be in the game. They looked like beautiful and efficient assassins instead of weird, scantily-clad harem girls.

Still wish Kahn wore a helmet or mask, though. He's just far too handsome to look like a creditable or fearsome threat.

How and why would Sindel have that ability though? Is she a witch? Is this an ability that all Edenian mothers have? It's little things like this I was hoping would get answered.

And I'm still not feeling the cartoon style. I can understand with a limited budget though.

@Garlador

Man I absolutely agree with you 100%.
As much as I appreciate the work of the MK team, I sometimes wonder what in the world goes in their heads.

Too bad the game has a completely diff story now. I'm afraid that they've sorta ruined the princess' story :/. I mean how do you fix all that? Kitana has one of the greatest stories ive ever seen; why don't the MK team feel that way? Why destroy something so epic?

This episode was even better than the first one, and the next will be better. I'm really digging this MK LEGACY series. Finally the story of the Princess is told right and portrayed right, finally shes been given justice.

Even though this episode was extra short, I loved every second of it. The success of this series will definitely incourage NRS and WB to film a movie.
Me happy :), this episode was badass and I enjoyed it so much that words can't describe how I'm feeling right now.

Very good episode. Kitana's revelation was way better in this than in the game, and the fight scene was just plain awesome. Glad they didn't have Jerrod survive, and I like how Mileena "took the shot" when Kitana hesitated. And if they'd just give Kahn his freaking helmet....
