You've got Jax and Reptile's X-Ray figures listed under upcoming single figures, it's going to be their regular forms, not the X-ray variants

Also for future reference, I keep as up to date as possible on all the Jazwares Mk figs, if you guys ever need pictures or reviews, I'd be happy to provide.

Is the MK1 set as bad as the UMK3?

Even though im quite disappointed in the majority of these I still might pick up a few, not all of them are that bad as I was expecting. I don't think quality was a big factor when making these, I dont know whats up with the sculpting on most of these. The thing is we all know that Jazwares can do alot better than this. They have done it before and released great figures. But I don't know what the fuck happened.
Anyways on the good side I really like the idea of the x ray figures showing the insides and shit. I might pick those up. And the cyborgs look pretty cool too.
I can still hope though maybe another company one day does MK action figures. Because they have potential to be awesome, they don't have to be geared towards younger ages. There are action figures out there, with lots of articulation but still so much attention detail and they look awesome. They aren't geared toward children at all, that's what I believe should be done with MK. We need some collector figures, with quality sculpting and attention to detail. They don't need to lose articulation, I will show you figures that are just as articulate as these but look 1000 times better, it doesn't take away from overall quality.

Wow, looking around more and on other sites it seems that the paint fuckups are very common, most;y with the classic ninjas and even with the cyborgs, here are also some molding issues. Quite disappointing. The least they can do is not fuck up the painting on them. To me they seem like they were sloppily made, with not alot of care. Its not just a few mistakes its a lot. I hate to say is but looks like mass produced shit. The classic ninjas are palette swaps, not saying its bad but if they are doing that the painting should be spot on, thats the only thing they have to do, they don't have to totally redesign each ninja. they just paint it a different color and they cant get it done right.

At least the xray figures look petty cool, I will probably pick up that dual pack. Reptile looks good, jax looks OK, except wtf is with that body build? That doesn't look like jaxs build, i expected it to be more muscular. And the head seems kinda off.

Anyone know the price of the xray pack. Hope its not too expensive, might pick it up.

TRU has the X-Ray pack for $29.99, that's a lot for a crappy Jax, Reptile is cool tho, I don't think they ship to Canada, you might as well wait for them to be released at legendsactionfigures.com., great toy store in Montreal. You can always buy them off ebay, but I don't think they are worth the price that people are charging.

Seriously? Did you join just to talk trash?
Anyone who buys MK merch is supporting the series, they're not 40 year old virgins. Granted these figures aren't very good sculpts, some of us like them.

On another note, I hope Jazwares produces a female ninja box set and Shao Kahn for the next series.

The only UMK3 Ninjas that I would even consider to pick up is UMK3 Smoke, Rain and Ermac. The MK1 ninjas don't really look as good IMO, even though I have heard they are better. I just wish they would have put the MK2 outfit on Smoke or reconsidered and put Ermac instead.

I still have alot of my old MK1 Scorpion and Sub-Zero figures from a longggg time ago. I got them about 8 years back and they are still in perfect shape.. Does anyone know who designed those? They were kind of miniature figures. Oh, and I still do have some of my tall MKT figures, Scorpion, Sektor and Cyrax. They are all in perfect condition except Sektor's dreadlocks are missing lol. Those were good manufacturers imo.

On a side note, when MK9 Jax comes out i'm most definitely buying him and MK9 Reptile, those look badass. I also hope they come out soon with MK9 Sonya, and if they made a MK9 version of Kitana I would pick her up too.

The 40-year-old-virgin (as in the Steve Carell character) buys these toys and decorates his room with them. If you weren't so quick to get butthurt you'd realise I was asking if that's what people GENERALLY do with these when they buy them. Because I genuinely wanna know.

What's a person supposed to do with them, though? Buy them to sell later? Stuff them away to get a profit in the far future?

There's nothing wrong with picking up a few figures from your favorite series for aesthetic value and enjoyment, and there's no difference between them or, say, a painting one likes and wants to hang on their wall. If you like how it looks, sure, use it to decorate your house. I wouldn't fill a wall with figures on shelves, but neither would I slap 60 miniaturized Van Gogh replcas all over my room.

Now, the notion that the only older people who buy action figures are old men who never get laid and buy them by the metric ton is another one of those idiotic stereotypes perpetuated by Hollywood - as in the given example - is surely based off of one or two examples of in real-life, like someone who remodels their entire living room to look like the Enterprise's bridge (incidentally, I remember hearing, during the one story I read about such a person, that he was happily married). But collecting a line of figures doesn't entail filling a room with them. You don't have to be obsessive about a hobby. It's like saying all gamers are greasy, acne-ridden shut-ins who laze about on their couches all day in their underwear getting fat off cheetos and funyuns - a stereotype, nothing more.

Anyway, the notion that these are kids' toys is absurd. No kid, in the strictest definition of the term, should even be playing MK2011. Children are not the target audience for these figures. There's a gigantic adult collectors' market out there for figures of all series, from comics, sci-fi shows, horror movies, etc.

Back on topic:

Dear Jazwares,

Please supply me with a 6'' 2011 Smoke, main outfit, please. Insert an air pump and tubes through the limbs, exiting from the palms of his hands, so that I may actually pump fumes throughout. I would also like the packaging to be gem-encrusted, and the 'Mortal Kombat' text embossed on the packaging and sprinkled with silver dust. Replace plastic bubble with crystal.

Thank you,

-Shadaloo

Pros and cons bro. They're more stable figures, but the paint is god awful. So unless you can fix it yourself, stay away. Also, the hands look retarded, since they were made for holding the friendship dolls. Articulation wise they're about as good as the other 6 inch figs, and the sculpt is kinda nice. If you're only gonna stick to one size though, go for the 4 inch figures, since they're a lot better, and they might get MK1 ninjas too.

Maybe you should stop trying to derail the thread? These products are marketed towards MK fans regardless of age or any other factor, the question was one intended to be bothersome and nothing more. These figures will be bought by MK fans of all ages, races, and genders. People like to collect things: I collect world flags, not to play with, but because I like them and to display them in my room.

It's showing pride in something you love, I love the world, so I collect world flags: I'm currently displaying India, Germany, Peru, America, South Africa, New Zealand, Brazil, and Korea on my book shelf. It lets visitors know I'm very culturally open and that my room is a place welcome to anybody regardless of where they come from, si

People who collect action figures do it for the same or similar reason. It's something they love and take pride in collecting these items as fans and it shows visitors apart of their identity. Doesn't mean people act like a walking stereotype and are all fringe and strange, you don't seem to want to discuss the figures, just be snarky, so maybe you should kind of lay off.

More on topic, the Baraka and Reptile look gorgeous, I'm hoping we'll be seeing everyone get their own figure for this set because the SYCO collectibels statues are amazing, but they're too expensive to buy more than one for me and I don't think it's likely I'll see Stryker in that line so hopefully this one delivers for a fraction of the price.

A couple of things:

1) Those Woobler heads look amazing! I'm most definitely getting that Shao Kahn and Raiden. I do hope they make more for the more obscure characters such as Sindel, Stryker, Kabal, Sheeva, Smoke, etc. Would be pretty cool.

2) I've definitely changed my mind about Jazwares X-Ray pack. When I first saw the pics (online) I thought it was the stupidest idea and one of their worst designs, but, once I saw it live I couldn't help but like it. Both characters look much better up-close and the overall idea is pretty unique and original. Jax's head looks pretty decent, btw. I hope his action figure is nice.

I'm definitely NOT looking forward for more X-Ray characters as this is something that is worth to see and own just once. The idea is original and cool, but, it should just be a 1 time thing. I expect full detailed and better looking characters for Wave 2.

3) Where the hell are they hiding that Sonya? She was the first confirmed character for Wave 2 way before wave 1 was even released.

4) A real shame they did not improve Johnny's head and face. Their MKSM Johnny is epic though, and thats the one I own.

5) I'm sick of the ninjas. So boring to see them. However, that MK1 pack looks beautiful....from far. I would have bought it if the faces were decent looking (horrible paint job on the faces) and if the price wasn't so crazy ridiculous.

A shame, because I think they look fantastic (and those friendship dolls are just pure win).

Thoughts?

My experience so far.

Initially I was gonna write off this line altogether. How and why NRS/WB allowed this C grade company to acquire the MK license will always be a mystery to me.

Anyway, I received Raiden and Sub-Zero 6" as birthday gifts and I was actually very pleased with them so I decided to hunt down a Scorpion and got him as well. After months of silence, zero feedback, and hundreds of fans (me included) being ignored by Jazwares in regards to the 6" Johnny Cage at the time I was just about fed up. Add onto that the smaller line being delayed with no reasoning, and the drastic drop in QC I was ready to move on and forget about their products.

Shoot to several months later and we see they decided to release an overpriced set of MK3 male ninjas...fine. Oh wait, what's that, you expected Scorpion to be included in the set? Hahahahah...you have to buy him separately and at a ridiculous inflated price. (Some Toys R Us have the 3" line up to $15 now) Needless to say things have gone from bad to sleazy at this point.

Skip ahead another month and what do I get as a gift...the cyborg ninja 3 pack. Seems I can't escape this line no matter what I do. After opening them I quickly realize they are gumball machine snap together figure quality. Legs falling off, poor paint apps, lack of detail, etc. I still can't believe they have the balls to charge $20-$25 for this. Speaking of balls, I believe the small amount of praise this 3 pack did get was due to MK action figure blue balls. I suppose a crappy 3" Cyrax with no accessories is better than no Cyrax at all in some people's minds.

Lastly my story ends with the 6" classic ninja 4 pack. Another gift, another train wreck. Again, do they simply not believe in QC? I mean sure these are technically toys for children whom I guess the company assumes won't give a shit if Sub Zero is cross eyed and Smoke is missing an eyeball, but with a $50 price tag you'd think they'd give even a small shit. Luckily with a quick custom paint job I managed to polish these turds into something respectable. Still not great, but good enough to display at least. Oh yeah, the joints are shitty and already loose even though I only adjusted them once to get them to stand. Also my friend had his Reptile neck peg break after switching the heads just once.

As for the X-Ray pack, I saw them last week. Maybe a bad batch, but every Jax was deformed. One had an ear that look like it was melted, another's ear was down by his cheek. I also think they undersized his arms and shoulders, pretty poor IMO.

I have zero faith in what they will deliver in the future. I can only imagine the butchery Shao Kahn and his throne will get, and maybe it's better we never get a Sonya from them. God only knows she may end up with no breasts, caveman hands, and a butch face.

When I get my Sycocollectibles Kitana and Mileena, any and all Jazware products will be stricken from my shelves FOREVER. Maybe I'll leave my MK9 bookends and custom bookends up with them though.

To answer the question seriously. I am 25 years old with a wife,a son,and a little girl on the way and dont look like a sterotypical nerd. But I am a huge comic book, video game, and Action figure nerd. Ive picked up a couple of these figures that I liked and what I do with them is set them up in the room my wife gave me for all my nerd shit. As lame as it sounds I set them up with my other figure sets like Marvel universe and Street fighter creating battle scenes and just showing of my ever growing collection. I understand how it looks to some people and I dont really care either I have several friends who bust my balls about it and If I get a few odd looks at toys r us its no sweat of my nuts. Im not sure why I still enjoy toys so much as an adult its not like I sit on my floor and play with them unless with my son but if I still display them as some kind of way to keep in touch with my child hood then whatever I enjoy it.
