August 18, 1995 is quickly approaching and will mark the 20th anniversary of Mortal Kombat (1995) when it released in theaters in the USA.

So... in honor of this great anniversary... what kinds of MK1995 things would you like me to make available for a limited time?

Mortal Kombat movie scripts?
Behind the scenes videos not already on Youtube?

You remember my big, massive site that I took down... and now I have a pinned thread in this forum... so what would you like to see?

If you ask me for something already on the Web, I'll post a link for ya'll as well!

Note: I have just purchased two Mortal Kombat CinemaClips 35mm Commemorative Film Ticket Souvenirs and for the first time ever I will release never before seen photos of the contents. If you happen to own one of these and would like to share your film clip please do so. Even a shitty quality works so long as I can make it out and I can find an actual hi-res photo of the clip.

I love the MK movie!

I had the pleasure of seeing it in the cinema 20 years ago. And to this day I still have a ton of printouts, its two official posters, and the foldout from the movie magazine, that moved several houses with me during the last two decades.

I remember seeing the picture of the three heroes with Rayden's lightning appearing behind them on Shang's boat, as the first image ever on the internet. I intentionally went online for the first time to look it up.

Planning to commemorate the anniversary by watching it again with my family.

I also enjoyed your site, of course, and the many never-before seen pictures on it, which were also printed to be put up on my walls :)

As far as the anniversary goes, any pics we haven't seen before, or interviews we haven't read before, would be awesome, of course.

Just, too bad we never got our hands on the original cinema film, but had to do with the truncated version on VHS and then DVD.

Face your fears, face your enemy, and face yourself :)

Thanks for sharing your experience with initial thoughts and the tidbit about the earliest images of the movie.

For that I will present to you a VHS Retailer Promo Kit for MK: The Journey Begins. This kit was recently sold on Ebay and the contents for that sale included:

- A customized promo box just like the movie
- Instructions to make the box popout
- VHS Poster
- VHS Screener
- VHS Coupon book

You may access this very rare item
by clicking here

It is unknown at this time whether or not a press release was made available for TJB, although it is assumed to have happened. We know already a press kit exists for both movies, the live tour, and even Conquest, and a VHS Retailer kit appeared for the first movie.

Who knows what the Internet holds.

Thank you for the TJB promo. It was very nice to see that.

I do still have a good memory of the way the entire cinema roared with laughter and applause when Johnny Cage did the split punch on Goro. Of course, the fact that he managed to beat the unbeatable fighter by outsmarting/luring him is still (to me at least) arguably the best movie scene ever.

Back then, one had to get lucky while keeping one's eyes open to find any promo/merchandise (due to it being the days before Ebay), but that's part of the reason why seeing all the items you had on your website was cool :)

Sadly the only real news we're getting for this anniversary is another "director attached to the reboot" announcement. Thankfully he's the only director ever attached to a MK property that is actually famous and has long established his fame. Kevin T was kind of a Glee guy and had his one hit wonder. James Wan or whoever started out with the Saw Franchise than helped with The Conjuring and Fast 7. This is what MK movies and media needs for a rejuvenation and if this doesn't happen I'm afraid we may never see MK in the movies again.

What's the status with Legacy 3? Looks like a missed opportunity now that the game is out. Kombat every year could keep the dying franchise alive.

But we'll see.
