I can agree with you on a lot of what you say, Mania, but I personally despise Anime. Being that Mk was an AMRICAN concept, let American animation do it. And if anyone says kiddy artists (Ed, Edd, and Eddy, GO TO HELL!!!), I must get my 12-gague.

For the Anime idea...I disagree 100%I don't think MK should have its own little cartoon because it might give wrong ideas and stuff.If there was an MK cartoon there would not be blood and gore like the stuff you said.I don't like Anime and all they show is there lip bleeding or something boring like that.

Well...not exactly what I want to see ,but that vid proves my point.Anime cannot really make a fatality work out in a MK type of cartoon.I just don't think it can do the job.I wouldn't like an MK cartoon.I don't think anyone can pull it off except Midway(of course because they created MK).

Umm..It kinda shows the opposite of your point. Blood and guts stuff can be done in anime. And while, stylistically, Elfen Lied is far from MK, other shows (like Afro Samurai or Cowboy Bebop) could be seen as aesthetically close to it.

And, just so you know, Midway isn't an animation company. And furthermore, just because a series would be created under the direction of a Japanese studio, doesn't mean that the American company funding it wouldn't have any sort of creative control.

The reason I wouldn't like any type of MK cartoon is they might mess up the storyline.Look at some of the MK cartoons.(Just my opinion)

Its not as if MK has much of a coherent story to begin. And this wouldn't be a cartoon for kids, so the kid-friendly story-lines and simplistic plot seen in MK:DotR would be out the window. Sure, it wouldn't be EXACTLY what you as an MK purist would want, but what you want would probably suck ass.

I call you a purist because your concern was that they "might mess up the storyline." I'm not sure where you got the 'perfect' notion from, as I never said anything like that, nor did I say you'd want a kid friendly series. I simply stated that an anime series based on the MK property, if created for adults and teens, wouldn't be kid-friendly.

Believe this or not,most americans do not like anime,it may be big in japan but their freaks for those things.But this is a american based product and it needs to stay that way.Anime is not the way for mortal kombat at all.I dont care what you say or how u defend it,but anime is not the way for MK.I can not stress this enough,has it will ruin the feel of the franchise and it won't have the mk feel to it.

Oh really??....because the american cartoon of MK was a such a masterpiece....give me a fucking break,an anime would be great if well done,something different i would like to see.

I just got back from watching some anime...,so yeah I would like to take all of my comments back from the anime thingy and I would love to see an MK anime type thing.I just noticed that there are some cartoons that just give anime a bad name.I was watching SF and it was awesome.

yeah man, im guessing by SF you mean Street Fighter. the street fighter animes are top class, i have all of them. the 26 episode anime show "street fighter 2V" and the 3 movies, Street Fighter alpha generations, street fighter alpha 2 the movie, and steet fighter 2 the movie. all of them are great. im glad you agree with me.

I saw SF:Alpha generations last week and I was impressed.I would like to see some of that kind of anime in MK,it would be great.

i would too man, that style of animation would suit me fine...along with really bloody and gory stuff like animalities,brutalities, and of course, fatalities.

Animes are friggin' awesome!

Yep they are and a MK anime could be totally awesome. But an animated series made in america could also totally rule. There's very good american stuff out their too. Just think about MTV series like Aeon Flux, The Maxx or even Celebrity Deathmatch... awesomeness!

Anime has the advantage that the animation would be a lot smoother... the japanese just have more experience because their market for animated stuff is so much bigger... percentual speaking of course.

And hey if there are still some doubters out there...

like if you only know anime from your lil' siblings watching Sailor Moon, Pokemon, DBZ or whatnot... or if you're just like "nahh,... 'cartoons are all just kid's stuff"... Have a look at this stuff:

The first season was made in the US, the second and third were made in Japan. Needless to say that the animation got a lot better in the later seasons but to be fair I must say that the details got a bit less. Well some characters look better some look not as good BUT the animation got much better!
