This year marks 20 years since the debut of Conquest on TNT. Originally called Krusades, Conquest was primarily filmed at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Splended China amusement park. Some rumors suggest parts were filmed at Epcots Morocco and China's pavilions at World Showcase ( some of the sets resemble this location). The show was known for mediocre acting, a shit-ton of characters we never see again, recycling establishing shots from the first movie as its transitional intercuts, matte paintings, aged, crappy visual effects and pretty much every woman was often sweaty and scantily-clad. The fights, always 3 per episode, featured some of the most martial-arts and often were perceived by critics as the best thing about the show. The show was cancelled after one season likelh due to the high costs of funning it after WCW Nitro. Information about Season 2 can be found on my site: http://wskel.com/MK/mk_conquest_1998

As a celebration to the first film's 20 anniversary Mortal Kombat Conquest was released as a 4-disc set in North America. To date, only Defenders of the Realm and The Live Tour have yet to make a DVD or Bluray release (The Journey Begins joined the 1995 film on its bluray debut as an extra feature). The DVD set came with a 4-page episode guide.

Press Kit Scans Wanted
To this date, I have yet to have scans of the Mortal Kombat Conquest Press Kit. I am looking for this if anyone wants to even take a photo with your phone that'll be great. Except for a Director's Cut of the Twisted Truths episode on VHS there appears to be no screeners, workprints, or retail kits in existence.

Let's use this thread to share information, memories, tidbits and everything about Conquest. Perhaps someone has photos from the MGM Backlot Tour around 1998-2000ish when people could see the sets in person?

Update: I have found a large community dedicated to Conquest with photos of props, set visits, etc. Take a look here and if anyone knows how to save this stuff let me know. We must preserve it!

I have updated the Mortal Kombat Conquest portion of my site with a lot of new material, such as:

* Photos of the very early promo shirt
* Photos of a cre jacket
* vidence for a 2+ hour edition of Twisted Truths
* Scripts for the first and 13th episodes
* Notes from the Disney Backstage Tour, since, you know, Conquest was filmed at Disney

Wow. It's hard to believe this horrible show premiered 20 years ago. That was back in the days when I was into pro wrestling, and monday nights were Raw/Nitro nights...two hours on the phone with my buddy while we watched Raw and occasionally flipped to Nitro.

Since I was still in high school I was forced to go to bed right after wrestling was over, so I used to tape Conquest. I only taped about 3 episodes before I decided I didn't like it, which was odd for me considering that I have always been an absolute MK fanatic.

Glad to see it gets some appreciation regardless.
