The Mortal Kombat II feature film sequel has been pushed back to next year, but don't worry! This month's New York Comic-Con will help kill the time with a live panel featuring a raft of stars and creators involved with the film! The special event promises to deliver a surprise guest for fans, as well. Read on for details:
Returning director Simon McQuoid will be joined by new stars Karl Urban (Johnny Cage), Tati Gabrielle (Jade), and Martin Ford (Shao Kahn), as well as screenwriter Jeremy Slater, and series co-creator / franchise face Ed Boon. The panel will also be moderated by an as yet unidentified "special guest".
Details about what the panel will feature remain unspecified, but producer Todd Garner shared a Screen Rant report with the headline "Mortal Kombat 2 Still Has A Special Surprise For Fans In October". Perhaps a new clip or trailer? Your guess is as good as ours.

Mortal Kombat II's release date was officially pushed back to May 15th in an announcement at the end of August. Speculated reasons for the shift include maximizing future tent pole Warner Bros releases, including MKII and new installments in the DC Comics Superman franchise.
