I did really enjoy this but only because I took it for what it was. This is an attempt to "freshen the franchise" so it's movie worthy. So they will obviously take liberties. I think it all looked good for the most part, of course I'd like to see how Sonya got caught but it's a web series, we can't cram in every detail. I kinda look at it as a different dimension. Yes I adore MK canon but it can't ALWAYS be honored. I really don't view this clip as an MK fan...but more of a sci fi fan...with an insight into the MK background. Can we really expect them to honor the MK canon in 12 minute webisodes? No...but I'll say I am glad they're trying so it can maybe become something more dignified one day that will honor the original MK storyline more. I feel like this director knows his MK but also knows the business and what to show the board guys to get the ball moving. I bet he has another move story in line that takes from this realistic feel but also ultimately honors the games foundation and storyline but it's all about convincing studio execs to wanna back a movie project with money. This is his first step and I do applaud it.

only ten minutes an episode and apparently the XM8 is an energy weapon somehow.
A way better job could have been done IMO, still its better than either movie so far.

Hologram face thing and all.
and a buxom coed just doesn't fit.
Gaaaayyyyy.
Oh, and originally Kano didn't kill Sonya's partner - it was her fiancee.
Or maybe he was both.
- Where are people getting that Stryker is Jax's boss?
Because white folks.
Deal with the guns people. In the real world, in that kind of setting, people aren't going to drop their weaponry to punch each other in the faces.
Right, but in Mortal Kombat they should.

I have the official MK1 and 2 comics and Kano killing Sonya's partner is not mentioned anywhere in them.
As a matter of fact, anyone who owns Deadly Alliance has the MK1 comic, because the entire thing's pages are in the Krypt content.

Actually you're the one mistaken, Kano did kill Sonya's partner, you do know there's an Mk Comic right? It was released with the first MK Game for home consoles, and according to it, Kano did kill Sonya Blade's partner, the only thing that it doesn't mention is what was the name of Sonya's partner or how did Kano killed him. But as I repeat according to this comic, Kano did kill Sonya Blade's partner, and not just referring to the MK1 movie.

No wonder.
It was in the Malibu comics line. Here is the Hungarian translation, this is the only easily accessible version. It is a guy called Lance who has one czbernetic arm that extends..... standard He-man shit.

It's far superior to that Rebirth nonsense.

Except the production value of rebirth was much higher.

One question, where is the gore? This could really be a PG-13 show, no one could tell. There were only abit CGI blood in there.
This is not bad but i wish it would be better, bad directing from Kevin. The fights and especially the soundeffects were kinda bad. But its a tight budget and hopefully it will get better from here.

I'm pretty sure PG13 TV shows don't have lines like "Fuck Protocol" in them.

PG-13 movies are allowed 1 "fuck."
But Stryker says it, too.
It's an R. :D

You know you have an R rating when there's too many fucks. Fact of life.

Ehhhh... I know things have softened over time, but traditionally you can slip a few expletive fucks into a hard PG, so long as they don't refer to sexual innuendos. Doubt it's PG, but I don't think a couple of Fs will force an R on their own.
Awesome.
I truly enjoyed this and I have a feeling the next episodes with the next characters are going to be better and greater.
Jeri as Sonya is great. Badass.
Kano was intimidating and awesome.
Jax and Stryker were both very cool, but, Stryker was the best for me. He was just epic.
I'm not a big fan of the acting for Jax though. The toughness seems kind of forced.
I don't like that he is Jax's superior though...kind of, well, I guess they had to make him work in the show somehow, so, its cool.
Badass. Loving all the Sonya, Kano, and Jax love and even Stryker!

I just watched it and nerdgasmed when they showed the Black dragon were selling the Lin Kuei cyborg parts. I also liked the foreshadowing of seeing Kano examine the laser eye.
