So by default would that mean Conquest Raiden is Best Raiden because Kahn and Raiden are the same person?

Well Conquest Raiden is Best Raiden anyway.

Or maybe second best to Lambert. They play the character exactly the same except one has a very hoarse voice, so it just depends whether or not you're in the mood for that.

Also, Meek actually got to have a fight scene.

With himself.

And it was hardcore.

I can only hope this story in the series is over. Two very uninteresting episodes. The fight scene in the beginning was pretty good, but was overshadowed by how bad the rest of it was, in my opinion. I think if the episodes were longer, it would be better. It seems to me they keep getting shorter and shorter.

And that whole comic book animation crap needs to go.

Loved:

The fight at the start. You can really see the determination on both warrior's behalf to be the victor, and placing Kitana next to Khan when the shot started was genius. Kind of created that image we've all had of Khan favouring Kitana over Mileena.

Mileena's smug face when Jerrod died. She almost looked as if she was about to say "Another kill for me, haha, you lose and I'm better". It genuinely didn't bother her to kill him and she actually seemed happy that Kitana was obviously horrified by it.

The Plot was fantastic. This is exactly what we've all come to know and love about Kitana and Mileena. Two formidable, dangerous assassin's who despise each other despite being related and trained under the same Warlord. The favouritism, the manipulation, and the tension is what defined Kitana and Mileena in MK2 and they hit the nail on the head with that this time.

The sick, sick idea that Kitana was unknowingly hunting down one by one imposters of her own fucking father. She killed people who were identical to him, eliminating them one by one until she reached the end. That is just sick and epic and soooo many different levels, but I love the idea of it!

The artwork. Little details like how the spiderweb changed colour depending on where the torch was was really cool.

The Bad Parts:

The acting wasn't the best. As beautiful as Kitana's actress is, she seemed a little....robotic....when confronting Jerrod, rather than actually shocked or curious. I mean personally if I was becoming more and more cautious and confused about my own family and background, I'd be much more inquisitive and alarmed at the former king of a fallen realm telling me additional background information about my life. I expected a lot more response or emotion out of Kitana for this, it's a pretty big revelation in fairness! Yet she just seems uninterested up until he dies. The actress is a talented martial artist but her delivery in that scene was a bit of a let down. Considering Kitana is the personal assassin of Shao Khan and the Princess of Outworld at that time, I expected her to be a lot more outspoken, maybe even a bit brash. She should have been like a spoiled child who suddenly has their comfort zone yanked away from it and is reacting to it in shock rather than bored.

Mileena kinda over-done the whole "throw my sai and kill people" attack. It would have been nice to see some variety in her attacks, because as handy as her kills were, they were very anti climatic and predictable. Likewise I think the issue with her teeth is...weird. It would have fared out better if Mileena was self conscious of the scars on her face from where her Tarkatan Mouth forms and as a result constantly wears a mask to cover the scars and her transformations up, maybe even be a bit resentful that Kitana is beautiful and doesn't need one. Seeing Mileena unmasked, but with no Tarkatan fangs....it's not really a beneficial change.

If memory serves, the upcoming episode should be the Raiden one. And for a grand finale,we'll get hit with two two-parters,back-to-back - Sub/Scorp and Sektor/Cyrax.

At least I think Sektor/Cyrax is gonna be a two-parter.

Shit is gonna be so fucking cash. :3

Meek's version of Raiden was also less sympathetic to the supporting characters. I remember him handing Kung Lao his ass when he agreed to void the rules of Mortal Kombat and fight Shang Tsung to save Taja and Siro. Raiden was pissed and I saw it as a very strong moment for him as protector of Earth, which we've been seeing less and less of.

For me, this was an okay episode. I don't necessarily mind the animation, but I was disappointed by the continuation of narration. This should have been the episode in which we see dialogue and action take precedence over narration. I have to say that I don't like the angles of Sindel's suicide or Jerrod's escape. Kitana should have gradually found out about her past like it was in the original canon of the games' storyline. I mean, if they were going to have Jerrod like this, it might have been a bit better to have had Kitana be the one to kill Jerrod. Still, I'm not too pleased with the direction taken with Jerrod.

We probably won't see Shao Kahn again in this mini-series, so I have to say that I'm disappointed in him. He doesn't have the kabuto or the Wrath Hammer. It would have also been nice to have had him use at least a couple of his one-liners such as "Excellent!".

Despite all of this, I'm still interested in the series, and I look forward to the rest of it. It's just a shame that there's a low budget behind the series. It would be nice to see a full-length movie series if there was a big budget and good execution of good ideas. If we do get such a movie series, I would hope that we'd see things like Shao Kahn having the full gear.

It's finally nice to have an actress for Kitana who is a talented martial artist. The K/M fight was awesome, and the girls were beautiful without looking like five-dollar hookers. I think Kitana should have been the one to kill Jerrod, it would have been more tragic in a Sophocles kind of way. All Sindel's efforts to preserve Kitana's life and soul would have been in vain when her daughter killed her husband.

I agree that the episode was... meh. But with the budget constraints and time limitations, it doesn't surprise me. I think with more resources, the project could be better. I still have faith in KT.

Still wish Kahn wore a helmet or mask, though. He's just far too handsome to look like a creditable or fearsome threat.

I was waiting for Kahn to go "Jerrod is finally out of the picture, time to do some real fuckin' conquering!" and finally don his iconic helmet in the last few seconds of the episode, showing us that SHIT JUST GOT REAL.

I was sure so he'll do it.

And then he didn't.

And then I was disappoint. >:(

I kinda saw that happening too. But then Kahn screwed us over.

At first I was sure this was definitely my least favorite episode(two part or otherwise) so far, but the more I think about it, it kinda ties the Jax/Sonya one, maybe a little underneath it because Jax and Sonya were in Rebirth and it was a blast from the past seeing Michael Jai White and Jeri Ryan again. The animation was kinda cool but a few particular points really make the episode enjoyable for me:
1) The Tarkatans getting their kill on. Even though Baraka looks like an undersized uruk-hai.
2) Sindel putting her soul in Kitana is either hit or miss for me. Kinda interesting but if K Tanch does an adaptation of the MK3 storyline, how is he going to explain how Kahn gets Sindel? I swear, if he cuts open Kitana, I'm going to do a facepalm.
3) Mileena's mouth. At first I thought it was lame that she got a glasgow smile going on, but then I felt like its actually creepier, going from removing her veil and BAM! a whole buncha sharp teeth to her scars opening up into a big mouth. Those sequences were pretty creepy, especially when baby Mileena did it(lolbabality). So kudos on that.
4) Jerrod telling Kitana himself that he's her real father. I always figured the storyline went "Kahn won MK, went into Edenia, messed up Jerrod, and Kitana found out years and years later" but having Jerrod himself telling her that was powerful. And good for Jerrod, at least he got to see his daughter as a young woman before her clone abomination axed him. That events eventually leads to a Kitana that knows the truth and has centuries of resentment and hatred towards Shao Kahn and seeing this makes Kitana a more important and powerful character in this series than any other adaptation of MK if done right.

Now I hate the short length as much as the next guy, but you gotta face it for what it is: a weekly webisode series, not a 2 hour movie or a half hour TV show. Though I wish WB would throw Legacy more money if they really do want to bring MK back to multimedia greatness.

The animated sequences were my favourite part.

But as I was watching this episode, I couldn't help, but to think that DOA: Dead or Alive is far superior.

I appreciate this series for what it is, but I just do not think it is good.

Was ok. I enjoyed the first part more then this week's part.
None of the actors really felt convincing to me as the characters. Especially the guy who plays Shao Kahn. He really doesn't look or feel like a threat.

As a Mileena fan I like that they use the old canon storyline for her and Kitana instead of using the MK2011 canon story.

The fact that there hasn't been a movie in 14 years and that didn't suck balls and the games themselves haven't been exceptionally successful since then is probably enough to make them not want to put out a movie just yet. Thus why we have this short low budgeted webseries right now, WB's just testing the waters right now. And so far, it looks like a new movie isn't out of the question just yet. smile

Why does everyone seem to think it'd be better for Khan to be wearing full battle gear and helmet when he's just chilling out in his house?

He looks like he should look in this situation.

The fact is, everyone wants the helmet because this guy looks nothing like Shao Kahn.

"in this situation", what he should actually look like is bald with claws growing out of his eyebrows.

But the helmet would be cheaper than makeup and produce the same effect of making the actor actually resemble the character he's playing.

And the director said that the character he feels they changed the most from the original concept is Raiden. After seeing Kahn, I'm afraid to see Raiden.

Episodes 1 & 2 = Good
Episode 3 = Great
Episodes 4 & 5 = Embarrassing

Hopefully the series can get back on track for episode 6. As is, the last two were a very bad Syfy channel movie that even Syfy channel would say no to.
