Mortal Kombat is heading back to Australia for re-shoots / additional shots judging from the casts instagram stories.

Max Huang has been in quarantine for 12 days, while Lewis Tan and Ludi Lan arrived in Australia today I think from their insta-stories. Alternatively they may be flying in to do post-production stuff.

Hmmm, I wonder what kind of reshoots they would do. I would be super happy if they decided to get rid of the Cole Turner/Moreno character. Maybe they decided to make Liu Kang the main character. Wishful thinking probably, but hey, a man can dream.

I wonder when we are gonna get any kind of anything about this movie. Teaser, trailer, promotional photos, some pictures of the cast in costume. I wanna see how well they did on capturing the looks of the characters

Yes. The fact that they're having to introduce some new character with his stupid daughter already shows how unimaginative the writing will be. If you can't stick to the game's roots, then you're obviously going to try and pull a fucking Rian Johnson.

The game roots have changed repeatedly since MK2...

Seriously, maybe realise that introduce a new character is to make ANY character relatable. I loved MK Movie, but there was zero investment in the characters from the audience.

So you speak for the entire audience now, do you?

"Cole Turner – He is a retired and low-paid boxer who ends up being recruited to fight in the Mortal Kombat tournament, swearing to protect his daughter above all else."

WOW, we're all a bunch of low-paid boxers who have daughters that need protecting. HOW RELATABLE.......... that's definitely such a HUGE and much needed improvement over the existing MK character lore. Get a clue.

I gotta disagree with this. There are plenty of characters who the audience relates to, and I think Liu, Johnny, and Sonya were fine; Liu appeals to the audience's heroism, Johnny to the audience's humor, and Sonya to the audience's skepticism. And they are all relatable in that they're earthly people stumbling into this otherworldly, ultra violent tournament.

Their OC literally just sounds like a less fun version of Johnny Cage. No more relatable; just less fun.

I don't think the fact that they introduced a new character it an issue. it is that he is scorpion's son and at that end of the movie takes over his dad's place as being the one in the suit. So a swap of Sub Zero where one dies and his brother takes over. Now we get the father's sprit is killed so the son takes over. That is going to be the part that makes this stupid to have a new character. Did we really need a story about where Scorpion had a son that he sent away to the USA before his clan was killed off?
