Are you guys sure its a remake, or is it gonna be a swap sequel to the first one? Seriously I thought MK1 was good, all they have to do is build from it, and not have johnny cage die :p. If they were to remake it, they should stick to the first movie, fix the effects, put in a good fatality or two, and make Goro the same way as in the first movie and not use CGI to fuck it up, besides, it should be easier to make another model like that with the technology now.

BTW Christopher Lamberts wikipedia has him listed to play in MKD.

because wikipedia is always true, and only people who have proof can edit it

Calm down, usually when false or rumored information is up, it is taken down fast, so the fact that its still there might make it true. Im not saying i completely beleive it, but theres a good chance.

The first movie doesn't need a remake, they should just pretend MKA never existed, and make a real sequal to the first movie where it follows the MKII plot, and has Kung Lao in it.

That's the entire problem with this story. Everyone is saying that Lambert and Ashby are the only ones somehow "mentioning" the fact that they're reprising their old parts for this "remake," when all we've gotten are nothing but rumors that's been spread by people who truly believe that a film is in the making. There's only two people "claiming" that they're in for the film. Yet, does anyone realize the condition that Lambert is in? Despite many people can argue he can still act, though still, he's got a condition that's not a good one... Still, can anyone see my point? And it's two/three people saying they're coming back... there were more than just two people... what about the others?

The thing is this... we have been told over and over again about how there's this new MK movie that supposedly coming out soon, but yet, no one has stone cold evidence that this is true. Even if they did had evidence, it's either not true or it's too old for it to even be used as evidence. (Look at page two and you'll understand that.)

Not to mention, so far everything is bologna. I'll take back everything I said when I finally see something that can be living proof that there's a third movie in the making. Whether it's a remake or not. But nobody can fight back about how they're making a new movie when 10 years of this kind of stuff has been happening. I've stopped believing everyone who said that there's another movie, but no one seems to listen except for the ones who can actually understand that there will not be a movie any time soon. Key thing is the whole "10 years thing." Really, 10 years this rumor has been going on.

Not to mention, even though WB bought out Midway, I don't think they'll be doing movies with them. They might, but I'm on the side that they won't. Also to mention, the lawsuit that's going on with Kassoff or whatever the guy's name is. And Threshold was the company that made the movies, I don't think they'll be making more with this lawsuit either.

So... with that said:

We're not updating on this guys, please don't send any more leads. At this point anything the former stars say about a MK3 movie has to be taken with a grain of salt, and we don't report on rumors. Especially rumors that have turned out to be false several times in years passed.

Basically, this has been the smartest thing said on this thread so far... IMO though, I. M. O.

I'm just eagerly awaiting the next excuse from threshold on why its not happening, assuming of course that they are involved with this movie at all.
If the guy and his company that made bloodrayne can make a movie then theres really no excuse to why they can't.Plus, how the hell foodfight became a bigger priority over MK with threshold is beyond me.

Who the fuck is allowing that article to remain on the MK wiki? Completely ruins the credibility of all things wiki.

I see no reason why Chris would lie

Chris Cassamassa is a black belt not only in Karate but also in telling people the MK movie is being made and then it doesn't happen. This is the fourth time (I believe) he's stating the MK movie is set to start shooting in a certain date. No one's saying he's lying, I'm sure he THOUGHT the movie was going to happen every single time he talked about it, but just like us he got swerved.

To me, a statement from Chris Cassamassa is the worst sign because it's never played out like he said, ever. Why would a stunt actor of all people be the sole person to inform the world about a third MK movie anyway? Why not an official statement? Why not the stars of the movie saying something? Larry Kasanoff? Mink?

Why, for the fourth fucking time, Chris Cassamassa?

Very well stated Zent.
MK1 was good and I dont believe they need to go back and fix this. Yeah ok it would be "alright to do it," but lets move on. Remake it in 30 years or something when technology is that MUCH MORE enhanced.

I believe they just need to move forward off of MK1 and scratch MK:A like it never happened. That was such a waste of a movie I feel bad for MK team, it was like the downfall of not only the movie but the game itself.

Not to digress but with the new DC game, this opens doors down the line to actually have aN MK and Batman/ whatever movie. Whether this is a good idea or not is beyond me.

Batman Begins was a great movie and although mortal kombat is not like batman in many ways they should go this route as far as the qaulity of the movie.

I also believe if the movie was longer like LOTR they can pretty much touch alot of different charc and realms and build off this for the movie/ and following ones . Again the first movie had ALOT of different locations and it helped put that movie together. I think a longer movie will keep us all entertainment Hopefully directors/producers really take time with it. I dont think the producers/directors realize how big MK is, the fans and the doors they have recently open now with DC.

I just hope the producers/directors really put time and effort into the next movie whatever it is. It's been 12 years I guess and with all the new CGI and technology they should produce something really nice hopefully they put good time and length into the next one. I'll even play scorpion or sub zero for them and deny any awkward scenarios/scenes.
