I've been on a MK in other mediums kick (comics, books, etc) and I just ordered the novel based on the first movie (1995 by Jeff Rovin) from Amazon.
Has anyone out there gone through the whole thing? Is it any good? (I'm really not expecting it to be anything stellar.)

I have and it's actually pretty good.
It includes a lot of stuff that was in the original script but had to be cut out of the movie. One of those things being a bad ass Goro fight.(It's kind of a tear jerker)
And gives quite a nice bit of depth to the characters that had to be left out of the movie due to pacing.

Wow, I really wasn't expecting a positive review :P
But that makes me even more excited to get it. I've read a bit about it and I like that it visits the 500 year old MK tournament with the Great Kung Lao. You don't hear anything specific about that tourney anywhere in the main MK canon.
Does it have Art Lean in it? I loved that guy for some reason.

Exactly why I want to read it... completely fucking up the canon.
Still hasn't come yet. I'm hoping it will be waiting for me tonight.
