Well, from what i've read; my point of view is this... They are trying to get everything to work out really good. Not to mention that they have to get the approval of Ed Boon & company. It's their game and if they don't like something, they will let the writers know. I loved both movies and the special effects in Annhiliation. They would need to make it really good. They would also need to include Kharacters from Mk4 to MK:A. Unless they decdie to do another MK Movie after MK3 the movie. I could see Duke Nukum the movie coming out before the third MK movie. I havn't heard anything about Duke Nukum other then hearing that they are going to make a movie based on the game as well. Also they have been busy makeing the next gen game of "MK8". Alot has to go into so that we will be able to enjoy it on the PS3 and XBox-360. I've been a HUGE fan of the MK games and always will be till the very end. MK FOREVER!!!!
with only a small userbase on both of those systems why bother? the game would bomb and sell less then 1 million combined. now if they are smart and when MKA was released on wii which sold fairly well. it would be safe to assume that a company like midway would want the biggest userbase possible to show off the game would it not? and right now the wii is really huge right now. especially in america where finding a wii to buy is pretty much non existant unles syou have inside sources. and hvaing a userbase that is growing by a million a month so it would be very very unwise of midway to exclude the wii on a release of mk8.
