MK isn't ONLYscorpion and sub zero,but it's plenty of characters such Johnny cage,Liu Kang,Sonya,Kano and Goro that are very interesting,way more(and better) than scorpy and subby.
The feud between them isn't neither the main plot of mk history.
It's just one important chapter,not the most important.
The most important thing is earthrealm vs outworld,and every single warrior (during the time he appears on the screen) should have the same importance than scorpion and sub zero.

In the first movie, Shang Tsung said that Sub-Zero and Scorpion were enemies, but they worked together throughout the movie, and never even fought or looked each other in the eye. I don't see how that's giving them any importance at all. I know that I, as a fan, felt a bit disappointed that they didn't even really seem like enemies. If it weren't for that one line from Shang, we wouldn't know it.

I think it's weird that you, an MK fan, felt that was sufficient.

It's even weirder that you say that the Sub-Zero and Scorpion feud deserves the same importance as the rest of the story, yet agree with what was done in the first movie. There were tons of lines about the Mortal Kombat tournament, about Liu Kang and about Sonya. There was one line for Sub-Zero vs Scorpion. Is that giving the same importance?

it was part of mk Annihiliation and it sucked.
it was part of mk Conquest and it takes only one episodes,but we all knows that conquest never was succesfull.
in the first mk movie,it's NEVER mentioned that Subby and Scorpy are enemies.they are just "slaves" of Tsung power.
so the thing that Scorpy and Subby co-operated,even tough were enemies,it's a bullshit.

The movie im talking about should be a re-do focusing on events of the first game.

The feud between Scorpion and Sub is defined in the games.

I thought this would be an okay way to open the movie because at the time of the first game the only other feud between character BESIDES the main story was Scorpion and Sub Zero. It's nice when movies have sub plots.

The dialogue between them would be a little more complex then what you did. Thats kinda what writers are for.

Also if this re-do should spawn its own sequels then the sub-plot focus would shift from those two to whatever was more interesting at the time.

in the post i just said that Sbby and Scorpy,are displayed in the previous movie(i don't consider Annihiliation tough) and t series(conquest) with the right amount of time.

no more details about them at all,and that's why:

1)they should give a reason why Subby and Scorpy hate each other;in conquest they screwed it a lot,killing sisters,lovers,relatives and all genealogic lineage.In the first movie they fight for the same sied(outworld,against earthrealm).So if this next movie will be a sequelwhich NOT) it's not senesd a fedu between them.
even tough the movie will be a restart(or reboot) it's not semsed yet.
They have to give more time on screen to Subby and Scorpy,and if you two are logical and intelligent guys(which i hope for) you'll understand that is unevitable that the two ninjas needs more time on screen.

2)i really do not understand why Scorpy and Subby?
in the first game Scorpy had a secondaru role(kill off Sub Zero).
the first Sub Zero wasn't that important(we now knows that he is Noob Saibot) so,i don't want to be repetitive,but WHY two secondary characters have to appear more time on screen?

they aren't the most fan-based characters neither.

3)more time on screen means more importance,and this is dangerous for
other characters that really needs more time like Rayden(useness in the second half of the first movie),Shang tsung(only one fighting scene?)
Goro(he appears only for about 15 minutes) and Shao Kahn(ok he doesn't fight in the first tournament,but can he,at least,appear more than 5 seconds?).

i think those characters are way more important and useful for the success of the movie,than Scorpion and Sub Zero angle.

i hate the doubled sound versions, its just sooo stupid to translate the sound of a film.. i mean, it is changing some of the essence of the original thing, and transform it into something else (like in this case).

if somebody wants to translate a movie, the use of subtitles is enough.
but sound doubling is ridiculous. in my opinion.

....the point of a sub-plot is to be an episode of the story. Changing this results in the sub-plot becoming the actual main plot within the diction.

well for the next movie the producers said they are doing a redo which is a good idea because they messed up alot with the first 2 movies. the 2nd movie really didnt have a set up for a 3rd one, it felt like it just ended. i think they should start over from the first movie. also with how the movie should be filmed. it would be cool to see it like they did 300 and sin city. also it would be really cool to also see it like beowolf. with the beowolf way they can do just about anything since its not real life so they can make anything they want especially for the fact the mk is very over the top with its fighting and effects in the games. it would be easier for them to create the digital effects and make it look better. and with starting over they should do a series of this with movies. start from the beginning and make a movie for each chapter. from mk1 all the way to mk armageddon. also try giving everyone good airtime. and dont just throw characters in the movie for a quick thrill. it pisses me off when they put mileena in mk annihalation and didnt mention her name especially cause she was a very important character. i felt even scorpion barely had airtime. he is a big part in the games but he had like one part in both movies. they really can do so much with starting over and i think they can get alot out of this. also it would be awsome to see another mk movie since its been so long
