Was jus browsing my Defends of the Realm DVDs and wanted to know what you guys thought of it.

Overall I thought it was a pretty poor addition to the MK pot from one standpoint. In that a title that is so mature in its gore and stuff (even tho its not aimed at adults, its all I used to play when I was 5) it seemed like brazen marketing to produce a show that was a kids show.

But, I must say, there are some episodes that were brilliant. These include Kombat Begins Again, Familiar Red, Old Friends Never Die, Overthrown, Amends and Resurrection.

I was able to pick up the dvd's very cheap, £1 each a coupla years back, each with 4 episodes on, annoyingly its missing the one episode I wanted to see more than anything, which was the Scorpion episode.

I remember stumbling upon an episode of the live action tv show late one night, years ago. But I never go tthe pleasure of veiwing the animated show.

i hate the cartoon series:
1)flyin planes:how inn the hell can liu kang and kitana drive a militar jet?
2)kung lao,kintaro and johnny cage absence
3)ridiculus "it's combat time!" by sonya
4)horrible animations
5)common storyline....
6)a lot of characters make only cameos

I actually kinda like the cartoon series. Found it a nice way to give my brain a break after a full week of classes and work. Comfortable PJs, a bowl of kiddie cereal and cheesy/corny action cartoons. *Note to self, buy Fruitloops when going to store and dig out Transformers DVDs this weekend*

As for Liu and Kitana flying a jet, I do believe I rather believe that than a kid piloting a starship (Wes of ST:TNG) and/or flying the batjet (Robin of Batman and Teen Titans). As for the "Kombat Time" its no worse than "It's Morphing Time!" or "Thundercats Ho!" of other kiddie shows.

Before judging, you should keep in mind that this was made for kids not teenagers or adults. True its based off a video game but at the time many people believed that video games were only for kids and the creators most likely only had the movie and character descriptions to based their writing off of. That I believe was a mistake but considering the results they did a decent job. No worse than Wing Commander Academy and Dragon anyways.

don't worry ladyraiden,i hate the other show that you quote as well,so i don't make discrimations.all the "movies" or tv shows that you said sucks as well....

and about judging...yes i understand that was for child,but the final aftermath seems to be some kind of show for retarded child.
and it's a bit different.
a decent job?
i can still close an eye on the abysmal storyline,bt on the animations!
with all the respect for other users,but i can make better drawings that MK DOTR.
and as well a lot of MKO user/artist,so don't tell me that the show is decent.
i respect your opinion,but in the end i totally disagree with you.
