Did anyone realize that MK1 and MK2 had two different directors? Paul Anderson directed the first one. He directed movies like ALIEN VS. PREDATOR, the RESIDENT EVIL SERIES, and SOLDIER (with Kurt Russel). John R. Leonetti Directed movies such as HOT SHOTS PART DEUX, SPY HARD, and was once featured on 2005's CARTOON LOGIC. Now. So all that was said in the Ultimate MKA Rant website... you wanna know why all that stuff happened? This is your answer. Shoot the directors. Blame Threshold Entertainment for pushing the product out, KNOWING full well that the movie was going to bomb. Remember folks... After MK1's successful debut, the money that was made off of the second movie was based on the HYPE. MK1 naturally HYPED us to go see the second one. We were just in for a bad suprise that would have us hating ourselves for spending our money on the feature. The third movie promises a new director, who goes by the name of Mink, who directed the Steven Segal flick "INTO THE SUN." I wonder how this is gonna turn out.... Threshold knows that they gotta redeem themselves with the public after that bullshit in 1998. Will Mink make them, or break them? That is the question asked by many.

So that Explains why The second Movie wasn't half as good as the first one....you said hot shot....that was a comedy...there is nothing comedic overall about Mortal Kombat!

Lui Kangs Out Fit... her wears Black shoes instead of white shoes in the game he has on white shoes....

ShangTsung Has a Trench Coat like on but in MK2 he is more Comfortable and he is wearing a HAT

Those Priest Aren't Really Shang Tsung...Dont get it too twisted...Those priests aren't really even Shao Kahn...they are Shao Kahns Fathers..... But they dont hit on any of that in Conquest nore in the Movies....

just finished reading the first novel, it is awesome!
*chan is the chosen representative of the order of light (not siang as in the comics.
*cage uses a weapon versus goro and doesn't kill him (which ashby mentioned in the starlog interview)
*scorpion doesn't teleport.
*the island is outworld but an illusion tsung creates.
*art lean has more meaningful interaction with the heroes.
*there are a number of fights going on at once.
*the different races...
*kano is arrested.
*scorpion gets involved in the demonstration
*scorpion and subzero are tsung's bodyguards (which the journey begins had)

i just really recommend the novel for anyone who loved the movie...

scary to think that after reading it, the movie could have been even better

Because Major Briggs is unfamiliar with the process of the Tournament, he is a bit confused as to what to do as the audience yell from outside the fighting ring.




In the heat of the moment, Jaxx does a finishing move in the form of a turning kick hard enough as to cause some major damage to the other opponent.



The opponent goes staggering off and falls down onto the ground, the opponent is barely conscious to still breathe.



THE EMPEROR
Your soul is mine!




The audience takes a few steps back from the Emperor.




After Jaxx has won the match, the soul comes out of the dying opponent and goes right into the palm of the ruler of Outworld, the Emperor himself.




The barely conscious opponent on the gound starts to yell very loudly as the Emperor reaches his arm out over the exhaustedly weak opponent to steal his soul.




The Emperor says in a stern but giddy, self-amusing manner.



THE EMPEROR
Fatality.



Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, former Princess Kitana, and Jaxx watches as the first opponent lays dead before them.



Jaxx watches in awe and in a state of shock.

there is a car in the Cage vs. scorpion scene (forest part).

sorry I dont have a pic but After Scorpion yells "Come Here!" and Cage is panting it will cut to some trees for a few seconds. look in between the middle and the far left of the screen where you can barely see the grass end and you see a car passing through behind the trees.

also at the beginning of the scene where they both get into the fighting stance aren't there mirrors behind cage?

Goro kind of does his grab where he holds you with his bottom arms and hits you with the top ones.

He grabs Art Lean's hands and them pummels his head.

The "Cobalt Mines of Shokan", which is where Shang Tsung was banished to in MK: Conquest, were first mentioned in MK: The Journey Begins. They had never been mentioned at all in the games, until the MK4 comic (Sindel banished Reptile there for committing genocide).

After the last episode of MK Conquest, the Elder Gods resurrected all the main characters who were killed off in the series finale, citing that Shao Kahn has broken all the rules so they reversed his actions.

This sets it up so that Shang Tsung meets Goro in the Cobalt Mines of Shokan, thus leading to Goro defeating Kung Lao in Mortal Kombat.

After Kung Lao's defeat at the hands of Goro, Raiden approached Sub-Zero about becoming Earth's next champion. Sub-Zero declined the offer.

Allow me to put like this, if they make a continue from MK-Annihilation
is going to be again the worstest movie ever with the same worst caracters

That's interesting, I always thought the Cobalt mines were mentioned earlier, in a comic book or something, when Shao Kahn and Gorbak were deciding what to do with Shang Tsung after Goro's disappearance. (I thought it was in the official MK2 comic, the scene of Shang Tsung begging that is also shown in the MK2 intro) Good stuff.

Ah, I was talking about the first movie. In MKA Jax does use his ground pound, but Kitana also uses her fans, and Shao Kahn does both his shoulder charge and fireball. In the first film, none of the three uses an in-game move (though if you look below, Shao Kahn does utter some of his MK2 phrases.)
