Which Mortal Kombat movie did you like better. Explain why.
I liked the 2nd Mortal Kombat movie better. I think it had more familiar characters and a good plot and it also remember some events of the story that was in MK3

No way...The first one was definitely the better of the two:
Better story.
BETTER acting.
The story just seemed to flow better, while MKA was all over the place. I think MKA's biggest problem was that it tried to focus on too many people. They tried to include so many of the characters in the cast..that a lot of the characters that were in didn't get the attention they deserved. Take Sheeva for example...She could have been a great character in the movie...but she was only there for a couple of quick arguments with Motaro...and didn't even get to fight they had to squash her quick to move on with the story. Rain and Baraka are two more perfect examples of this...at least Baraka got to fight. So while they tried to do a good thing by involving a lot of the characters...it turned to to be what hurt the movie the most. Well that, and some of the acting was REALLY terrible. *CoughRaidenCough*
So, yeah, the first movie was DEFINITELY way better than the second one.

You've got a good point. I didn't like it when Shao Kahn killed Rain for such a stupid reason. Although i liked the Animality fight(s). There were 2 Animality fights, right?

First movie was waaaaaayyyyyyy better than the 2nd. It stuck more to the actual storyline of MK1 and MK2. MK:A really should have stuck to the more important character's storywise and not try to include every single character up to UMK3. Leave that for TV/Cartoon shows where there is enough time.
If MK:A was a good as everyone hoped/expected than their might have been another cartoon series. Think the Batman the Animated series, if they could do that for old Bats why not MK. They did an okay cartoon series off the first movie, but I was hoping that either that one would continue or another series started with better graphics. Hey, I liked MK:DotR and I like watching action cartoons/anime. So long as the story-line is tight and graphics not too bad.
Mortal Kombat's popularity was seriously hurt by the poor planning of MK:A, the rushed MK4 game and of course MK: Special Forces. It is now barely starting to recover due to MK:DA, upcoming MK:D and MAT2. I just hope that the third MK movie is good enough not to place Mortal Kombat back to a nearly forgotten status again.

The first movie was done better. Annihilation
tried to tell too much in too little time ,and also seems rushed and unfinished. The story was told better in the 1st movie also. People who don't know what MK is about shouldn't stick their noses where they don't belong!

OMG! R u FOR REAL! Anamailities???? THAT WAS ONE OF THE WORST THINGS THERE! Sheesh! Of coure the first movie was better, it had better actors and they had a more familiar look. The shao Kahn in mk1 was AWESOME and suddenly in mka, he was weak! MK1 was better, altho mka did have more characters i liked, but mk1 was still better

The first MK movie has my vote for the best out of the two movies.

Shit. I have to admit, i don't emember everything from the 1st movie except that the plot was told better than the 2nd one. I REALLY need to see the 1st one again. I recently saw the second one and thought it was great. Although ya know, VG movies make as horrible of a plot as Freddy VS Jason inspired movies. I guess the only thing worse than a VG movie is a sequel of it. Although MK:A was an exception for a VG sequel because i thought the action was done well. P.S: Stop attacking me for not agreeing with you people

OMG every MK fan knows the first movie owned the second one in every possible way. First had better acting, fight scenes, storyline, music, script, special effects, the list goes on... There was no second MK movie. The next MK movie is gonna be the awsome sequel to the original MK1 movie.

though it was year 1997 and they didn't have the technoligy(typed wrong) to make a good animality....soooo it sucked hard and animations were horrible!!Sooo MK1 was like one of the greatest fighting film's i ever seen.I really hope MK3 will be THE BEST movie i've ever seen
The first move by far. Not only was it a pretty good video game adaption, but it was also a pretty enjoyable movie in its own right. Nothing amazing by far, but definitly watchable.
MKA was far too cartoonish for my liking. The characters were completely over the top *ahem*ShaoKahn*ahem* and the plot was pretty much non existent.
The first movie had a much better cast too. They actually seemed to enjoy the movie they were making.

mk1 is my fav movie of all time
love it
mk-a was horribal just horribal
-bad actin/bad potrayal of the characters
-stupid story line(would of been better if focused on the actual story instead of just followin lu kang)
-lots of things look incredably bad
