Hay, REPTILWINS. Are you off your frikin rocker.
what do you meen its not the directors fault - of coars it is. Dumbass its all about direction. The actors suck period but most of that is direction. Look at the new Star-Wars movies, they sucked ass even with a great cast of actors, and all because of direction.

God I hate stupid comments like that.

what i meant, u pompus jackass, was that the director is not the main person to blame. it was a team effort. the director was the person i blamed the least (even tho in another thread i directed my hatered towards him, i finally see that hes not in the wrong). the movies suckiness (for lack of a better term) came from editing, dialouge, and weak acting. the director does not always choose the setting. there are ppl for that. nor does he choose the costumes. and all those repeat scenes u saw were the result of terrible editing and nothing more. and yes ive seen the new star wars films. they only suck because of the direction since Lucas basicly controlls most of the film. he decides the locations, he writes the scripts. its his vision. therefore hes the one to blame. in MK theres a bunch of ppl doing different things. one person writes the script the other chooses the location and another directs. this is why the movie failed and why there isnt only one main person who we can blame. it was all over the place. so many ppl did things for the movie when they didnt even know squat about the games.

P.S Star wars has horrible acting *cough*Hayden Christiansen(sp?)*cough*

Yes, the second movie was bad. But, it was a bad in the tradition of "Plan 9 From Outer Space". it was so bad, you can't help but enjoy the film somewhat.
For the negative:
The animality stuff at the end,(besides being horribly wrong and unnessasery) were, without a doubt, the WORST effects I had ever seen. I mean, There are stopmotion films from 1957 that looked better!
Where one of the 3(Three?! He is not a race, just a person)Barakas gets knocked into the fire, if you pause and slow motion, you see, that, in all reality, IT'S JUST THE SCENE OF RAIN FALLING INTO THE FIRE!!!!!
Why wasn't Sheeva(besides having some pretty crappy lines-'The date's over'???!wtf?) given a chance to actually fight? she is one of the more intresting characters and she gets shafted.
And then there is...some fool trying to be rayden. Christopher Lambert is the ONLY Rayden.

Yes the movie sucked.
But the novel is much better.
(Yes there is a novel version)

It's better than the movie cause the characters in to movie that had short parts had longer parts but there are some noticable elements.
1. Sub-Zero and Scorpion doesn't fight, Scorpion just appears grab Kitana and leaves. Also in the same scene Smoke isn't there it's just the Extermination squad, and an eathquake breaks the bridge down.
2. Jax fights Smoke in a forest while Sonya is fighting Milenna.
3. Rain is replace by Baraka at the beginning. Rain isn't even metioned in the novel. Also in the first scene a huge fight breaks out, and the good guys lose and Johnny dies (just like in the movies), but he talks to Sonya before he goes.

Okay see you all later.

Well that sounds interesting. Are there anymore differences between the movie and the novel version. Like was Sub-Zero even in it at all?

The novel version would also be better b/c while your reading it, you can immagine Rayden, Sonya and Johnny being played by the same actors from MK1.
Oh and does the beginning of the novel version say what Sonya looked like? In MKA she went through an entire make-over w/o explanation. Did the novel say if that happened too?

Yes there are other differences.
They don't explain how Sonya, Rayden, Liu Kang, Kitana, and Johnny look since you remember them from the first movie/novel. Other Differences is.

Sub-Zero's entrance is better in the novel than the movie. In the novel Sub-Zero slides down an ice pole and shatters the ice pole with his foot or hand(can't remember). Jade and Liu Kang never fight each other when they first met. Nightwolf has a much bigger role. More fights than the actual movie. Sheeva is killed while fighting Rayden and Liu Kang during the Outworld scene (when Sindel is standing on top of the statue and the three Raptors, but in the book it's Sheeva, Sindel, and some of the Extermination squad) Some of the good dialog isn't in the book that was in the movie, or where altered a little.

It's at Amazon now for $0.59
The author name is Jerome Preisler.
