I like 2nd movie better than the 1st.
Why:
Bridgette Wilson looked like she was always mad.
Christopher Lambert was kind of Ugly.
Liu Kang Kicked Tsungs Ass to easily.
Goro was an Idiot.

Why does every one hate the 2nd movie?

Well Sandra Hess didn't have alot of emotions at all.
James Remar is an ugly redneck.
Liu Kang and Shao Kahn turned into dragons during their fight. That just beats all.
Everybody was an idiot, as opposed to the single idiot Goro in the first movie (actually I disagree, I thought Goro was pretty cool)
Well at least it did not end that way, it ended with a Fight. At least the raiden in the 2nd movie Fought some, the raiden in the first movie didn't so Shit !

Um ok...
WTF how is MK:A better than the classic original based on your remarks?
Christopher Lambert was kind of ugly? Oh im sorry then MK:A must be a better movie!
Your statements are not worthy enough of disrespecting the first film. The first movie was made, casted, acted and had its story told much better! that is why

Wow, I shrunk...

Sonya is supposed to be a bad-ass. You want her to cry (MK:A) or be hapyy as hell?
Your Chirstopher Lambert remark = That's just stupid.
Better than the stupid clay anamility fights Lui and Shao had.
Goro was kick-ass. How was he an idiot? Going out there to fight Cage? Thats not stupid at all. you have the strength and size advantage. Cage just caught him off guard.
Things wrong with MKA:
Sonya was a little cry-baby
Jax had PLASTIC Arms...
Too many characters
Too many characters DIED
Mileena made it only for 30 seconds
The Final Fight
The Costume
The Lack of screen-time for Subby and Scorpion
The guys who made the film were CHEAP.
Guys like Kabal and Stryker were killed off or caught before they could even be on screen
Johhny Cage died too early
Fights that were for the 9 year old and below range.
Kiddy movie
Almost Power Ranger like
Don't make me go on

I love to take risks just for fan approval! The rush and excitement from the crowd is all that matters to me!
What wrestler persona are YOU?

Ok first of all...
Sonya Blade is a badass character. What's she supposed to do sing nursury rhymes all day and act like a sissy?
The Chris Lambert statement was just plain........dumb.
The Kang/Tsung fight was the best in the whole movie to me, besides the Scorpion/Cage fight. Liu Kang almost failed because Shang Tsung was banging Liu Kang's head on the ground towards the end. How did he win too easily? I guess you would wanna see Shang Tsung kick Liu's ass the whole time and then Liu Kang throw a fireball and win......dumb.
The Goro comment....just as dumb as the Christopher Lambert comment.
BUT....I did like Annihilation...it was okay I guess. The plot and some other things were just messed up. On a scale of one to ten. It was a 6, but i still loved it because its Mortal Kombat.

The 1st MK movie was the closest adaption of a VG-based-movie I have yet to see. It wasn't perfect, of course....but saying the 2nd one was better than the 1st , is just showing that you have no sense of what a good movie needs to be an actual good movie. I'm not saying the 2nd movie was the worst peice of godawful crap I've ever seen....but there were way too many things that could have been done MUCH better in the film.
Basically, they had a lower budget for the 2nd film than the first. (which isn't saying much...since the 1st film didn't have a hige budget either) That's were alot of the problem lies. I could go on and on like a fanatic, but I have a nice rant about MK:A on my site.

"Is it so important that you win one last argument with him?" "No, it is not, but it is true that I will miss the arguments; they were, finally, all that we had."
MK1
Pros:
Plot-driven
Made intelligent use of the fan's suggestions.
Logical and well-choreographed fight scenes.
Logical use of characters and character cameos.
Competent and well-cast actors.
Better overall special effects/sets.
Cons:
Goro looked gimpy, almost claymation-like in his movements, making him seem unnatural and unrealistic.
Minor plotholes and odd character/scenario placements (how DID Johnny escape wherever Scorpion sent them, anyway?).
No fight scenes with Christopher Lambert's Raiden.
MKA
Pros:
Better plotline tying into MK3/4 games.
Cameos galore.
Raiden fights! ^^
Cons:
TOO MUCH FAN SERVICE!!!
Extremely stale script/acting.
Lackluster special effects/sets.
Plotholes galore.
Fight scenes too short and boring.
Bad use of characters/scenarios.
One word: Animality.
Too many unresolved plotlines (Cage should NOT have died that easilly or that stupidly in the movie).
Y'see? In the first movie, they wanted to give the fans a move that is worthy of the MK name, using their suggestions to create it without going overboard. The second movie lacked that restraint, instead erring on the side of fan service. As such, the movie was little more than cheezy popcorn, instead of a good blockbuster. It's like, once the reigns of the second movie were passed onto another director/producer, they turned their backs on what made the first movie such a hit in the first place and decided instead on making it THEIR way, which meant alienating fan's expectations for videogame crossover bells and whistles that usually end up befalling all videogame movies (Super Mario Bros. ,anyone?). They had the right idea with the plot and all; they just failed ti execute that plot like they should have.

In MKA, they screwed many character's stories and the characters lost their deepness, and ..... AAAAAARGH sorry but I can't believe there are some MK fan who are pleased with that movie..... come on.

The things that made it bad were mainly the amount of deaths, and the change of cast for character like Sonya and Rayden. james Remar and Sandra hess gave good performances, but like any film/tv programme, the new cast member NEVER lives upto the original however good or bad they were. I think Christopher Lambert and Brigette Wilson were better too, but Remar and hess weren't abyssmal.
What Id liked to have seen would have been:
Rain and Johnny cage fight at the start, have Rain gain an upper hand, then Kahn kill him.
Have Kitana beat the crap out of Sheeva, instead of a cage fall on her. (I read somewhere but dont recall where, that Sheeva was supposed to fight rayden and Liu Kang, but the scene was changed and Rayden took on the Reptiles. Also, Kitana was meant to kill Sheeva. But both the fight scenes would have costed like a million dollars cause of Sheevas arms, so they were cut.)
Like I say, MK:Annihilation had lots of things wrong with it, but for me it was decent enough. not a patch on the original, but decent.
Well at least sheeva and Motaro had real actors/actress, Goro was just a Dummie/Giant Doll......

KILL THEM ALL ... KILL THEM ALL .... KILL THEM ...... FOR WHAT? HA HA HA........ THEY DONT KNOW HA HA HA ........ THEY'LL SOON KNOW HA HA HA IT'LL BE ME THEY SEE STANDING AT THE TOP OF THOUSANDS OF CORPSES..... AND THEY WILL DIE FOR WHAT THEY HAVE DONE FOR I AND ONLY I .....AM THE THE JUDGE

First off, a lot of people commented on how MK1 Sonya (Wilson) was the better Sonya b/c she had the attitude of a badass fighter, which Sonya is. However, when it came to the fighting MKA Sonya (Hess) was better. The 1st Sonya's fighting looked sloppy and that irked me. At least the the second Sonya looked like she knew how to fight.
Second, Raiden in MK1 (Lambert) actually gave us a more comical Raiden. He was funny, sarcastic, and he just had the look down pact. However, the MKA Raiden actually fought in the flim and Raiden is also a fighter, not just the protector of the Realm of Earth.
I have to agree with some people on the Johnny Cage issue. I hated it when he was killed off in the first 10 minutes of MKA. I started to like him after the MK movie came out. I also didn't understand the fact that Sonya had fought more than Liu (though I might be wrong) in MKA. The fact she fought Mileena got me, I thought Kitana would deal with her. Also, the fact that in MKA, Stryker and Kabal's names were mention, we never saw them nor do we know what really happened to them, so that left a lot of people baffled. However, MK had its share of flaws too. Like when did Scorpion and Sub Zero followed Shang Tsung??? The last I remember, those two werent the best of friends.
To sum it all up, MK1 had more acting to it. It was funny and it had a great storyline to it. You could follow the story all the way to the end and it the story itself made sense. MKA may not have had a good story, but it had more action than MK cuz there were more fights in MKA than in MK1. One film had the story plot and acting down, while the second film had more fighting to it, but not a good storyline. So I guess that's why a lot of people don't like MKA b/c of the story and acting.
