Yes, I know i'm obssessed with music lately (hence the thread I started in MK6 News & Discussion)
..
But during some of the fight scenes in MK3 (If there will ever actually be an MK3) would you prefer to hear good techno music played during them like in the first 2? Or this time around put a regular, intense music score over the fight scenes? Or emotional score?
I would rather them have techno music over the fight scenes.

I don't agree on that. I think the next MK movie needs to have a LOT more deadly orchestra in it! Techno is not the kind of music they should be using in the MK movies. In MKA there was way too much techno that it made the movie look more like a music video. Not only that it sounded too much like dance music! It should be like the music they used in Star Wars and Matrix Revolutions.

But techno music played over 1 or 2 fight scenes wouldn't hurt. I agree that the first 2 MKs had too much techno. Every fight scene shouldn't have techno. But 1 or 2 wouldn't hurt. Like in Blade, Blade 2, possibly Blade 3, and The Matrix (1st one).

Id love to hear some Juno Reactor. man that'd be sweet. and if the score could be done by Don Davis then we'd see some mad collaberations between juno and himself (such as in the matrix sequals). also i wouldnt mind a little Rob Zombie, some Fluke and some Rob Dougan. Rammstien should make a comeback aswell. thats about it for me. anything apart from that would be icing on the cake.
i personaly think that they should made mortal kombat into more extreme violence like in all mk games.they totally destroyed it's image.i'm not pleased at thier creation.but about music i think they should include a theme music from Omen and also from CHILDREN OF THE CORN theme songs.it'll make mortal kombat more intresting to all mk fans out there.we deserve to see extreme brutal violence in it.mkc is great but still no blood or any body parts taking out.

youre going off topic
I don't think orchestrated music would be any good because it is not that type of movie, although it should be. And if you put in Techno music like in MKA or Blade...Doesn't work for me.
I found that MK1 had some great music although i'm not that big of a fan of heavy metal music, but think about the fight scene between Johnny Cage and Scorpion, now that was pretty intense and thats how it should be, fast and furious.

I am not into hardcore metal , but when I saw Mk1 the movie loved the hardcore metal it had into it. To me it it belonged right in the MK movie. I loved the MK soundtrack from the 1st movie I hope some more great metal music comes out for MK3 the movie from the same bands that did for MK1 the movie.

I realy realy realy loved the title songs from both movies.. I also thought that in the first movie they had a pretty good mix of both techno and metal (e.g. Reptile vs Liu Kang <> JC vs Scorpion)

Music needs to be techno but needs to come in at the right time with the right sounds to make the movie a succes.

I think a good heavy metal song would fit for a MAJOR fight scene. Not some wimpy quick Jade vs Liu Kang, I mean like Kang vs. Shang but without the little pauses where Kitana says, 'Face your " "' Determining whenever in the fight they are. I do like the techno in the first movie in the Sonya Cage and Kang against Tsungs guard, nowhere else, its boring in other places.

YES! I agree! If anyone has listened to Rob Zombie or to some White ZOmbie you'll realized that it has theperfect beat for an intense, quick paced fight scene. I love hard rock just as much as I love techno. I think it should be mixed alot like the first MK film. (i.e. Sonya vs. Kano, and Reptile vs. Liu Kang). The drum beat during the Kitana vs. Liu Kang fight was pretty sweet but it got too repetitive toward the end.
To tell you the truth, I don;t care what kind of music it has... it could have Britney Spears for all I care...... I just want to see a thrid MK film!!!!!!

I woul like some Britney!!! JUST KIDDING!!!! HAHAHAHA
I liked the techno music, especially the reptile one!!!!
I hope they don't ruin the mk style with sme crappy band music... like they do with most movies nowdays

Well if I were directing, I would push for a total reinvention, so maybe some more orchestra music from Don Davis/Juno Reactor. I wouldn't change the theme though, and yes some techo needs to cameo, but heck I would try to civilize and make the movie more epic in feel, so techno wouldn't fit in my better version of it.

I would love some phil collins, or elthon Jhon!
JAJAJA seriously, but as a joke inside the movie!

I thought the soundtrack to MKA was probably the best (or one of) things about it. I think the first pretty much hit the nail on the head, and the second was great (music wise
), but I would suppose that the MK1 "style" fits better, so I would like to see something like that for MK3.
Now, let's think this through...
Let's take a fight scene from MK:TM, say, Reptile vs Liu Kang
.
Now, can you imagine seeing that fight scene with something like the Deadpool music playing? Or the Subway music? Seriously, no way. It might be suited more to giving an atmospheric effect, but I think the game music should stay with the games.

Not really. Some of the music from the games could work very well. For example: The street from MKTrilogy would sound great for a fight scene.
In the Option Menu of Mktrilogy for Pc (where the ? symbol is) there is this very cool music that could fit perfectly for a very fast fight scene.
There are others, but what I say is that, some of the music from the games could be used.
