Hi, I have a question. What is your favorite memory for playing the Mortal Kombat video games? Would like to hear your thoughts.

I started with Mk2. My favorite memory is seeing Kintaro for the first time. I truly wasn’t expecting to see a four armed beast as a sub boss.

It depends on the era for me:

Childhood: Mortal Kombat 1 on SNES when my friend and I were playing it for the first time and he accidentally pressed some buttons and Kano ripped my characters heart out(Scorpion)for a fatality. We were like "NOOO WAAAAY!" lol OR Mortal Kombat 2 the day it came out on arcade machines I happened to be in a place in Wisconsin Dells where it was available to play and I was blown away by all the additional characters. I thought it was cool to have female ninjas and I picked Kung Lao because I saw him throw his hat when the demo was playing before I inserted my coins. I thought to myself at 6 years old "Cool! A Mexican character throwing his sombrero with razors!" lol I laughed when I saw his MKX DLC costume and thought of that moment.

Teenage Years: Even though I liked Armageddon the best from the 3D era by far as a game itself, I'd say it came when I fired up Deadly Alliance for the first time on PS2 and watched the intro where they killed Liu Kang, I couldn't believe it and I remember the 3D style fighting blowing my mind at that time, especially how much better it was than MK4.

I didn't play video games between 2007 and 2019 so I wasn't there for MKvsDC(crap game), MK9 or MKX releases but I did get back into gaming the month before MK11 came out and decided to visit the titles I'd missed.

Adulthood 2019 to now: Probably just playing with my girlfriend is my favorite moments altogether. She has never played a video game in her life until I introduced her to MK9, MKX and MK11. As far as the moments themselves go, probably us playing through the MK11 story together soaking in the beautiful graphics and best part of the MK storyline so far with the timeline merger.

Overall: Adulthood 2019 experience.

My favorite memories of Mortal Kombat games were gathering every new and old fighters from the past Mortal Kombat games into 1 game of all time (and I think about almost everyone hates/ranks it as one of the worst Mortal Kombat games ever) and I still play it and it’s Armageddon.

Though this isn't related to my favorite memories, and MK Armageddon can't touch 9, X or 11 in terms of quality which is to be expected given it's age. I definitely feel MK Armageddon was the best of the 3D era hands down by a landslide in terms of quality, especially now. Furthermore, it's easily the best MK game aside from 9, X and 11 looking at it retrospectively in 2020. Back when Deadly Alliance, Deception and Armageddon came out it may have been more of a toss up between Dec and Arm because the Shujinko story, while not great was better than the Taven/Daegon story but in all honesty back in those days the MK story modes weren't that great even for that era, it was just nice to have something fresh back then, not worth revisiting now. Arcade mode is a different story, I wish MKA would come to XBOne/PS4 digital with online options. It's not like playing 9, X and 11 where the story mode is by far the highlight of those titles. Armageddon not only offered every MK character ever to that point, it played identical to Deadly Alliance and Deception with better graphics and the Create a Fighter was really cool for it's time. Admittedly the worst part of Armageddon was those kombo-based fatalities. Currently, I still play Armageddon occasionally because it is the best 3D era with all those fighters to choose from, why play Deception or Deadly Alliance with 1/5 the character choices. I wish MK11 would follow MKA's decision in offering every single MK character available, that would truly be awesome!

Played all the MKs and enjoyed them all.

Humm... It would probably be home smooth MKSM combo system was and throwing the tarkatans between me and my brother with aerial combos . That was very enjoyable

Damn. Too many to list but I'll just go with the 1st one:

MK1 was brand new, I was 7, all alone, in the dark, freezing people with sub-zero and I beat a game for the first time in my life. I can still hear the music of Goro's lair sing along to my youthful victory. My older brother scoffed with disbelief when I spoke of my accomplishment. No matter. I knew one day I'd a better fighter than him. And now I kill him almost every time. HA!

Wow far too many to pick just one. I could say my first time playing MK1 with my Dad when I was like 5. I could also pick my first time playing MK2 and fighting Shao Kahn...But for my absolute most cherished MK memory it's actually my first night with MK Deadly Alliance. When it came out back in 02 I was 13 at the time and was just hitting my prime gaming years. I bought the game with my paper route money...well my Mom did because I wasn't old enough. I took it to my 2 best friends house (twin brothers) and we bought a tonne of junk food plus ordered pizza. We ate and played the game against each other taking turns over and over all night whilst arguing about what was more enjoyable between riding rollercoasters or playing hockey. We continued to argue and eat and play for about a 15 hour stretch. This will always be not only my favorite MK moment but probably my most cherished moment in all of gaming.
