I suspect Rain is in. They put some effort into his role in MKX, he's highly requested, he's on SonicFox's fight card for some reason; and as for the menu image, if that really is just a Sub-Zero alt, then it would either have to be a canon costume (unlikely) or it would be an example for the customization menu, not "Konquer."

If Rain is in, & he very well could be... I just hope that they scrap his dumb ass super kick. For some reason that move pisses me off more than anything.

In a game with cryomancers and blood mages and specters from hell its crazy to think that a kicking move can break reality for me but it does. the thing sends you flying off the screen in one direction and sends you back around the world flying from the opposite direction back at rain.

I'm a Rain fan, and yet I think his old moveset would not fit the new MK style.

I think his design and background were fixed. Now they need to get rid of stupid bubble and stupid kick, so i agree. Maybe just having water catching the opponent in the air and bringing him on the other side of the screen instead of having him teleporting would make it.

I'm not convinced the guy on the menu IS Rain... As I said, I FULLY ACKNOWLEDGE it resembles him, but it also totally resembles Scorpion & Sub-Zero's new alt costumes (though I personally think it's more likely to be Scorpion, and here's why)...

We know very well that MK9 & MKX made ample use of alt costumes throughout story mode, they're not just fun extras anymore, they've served more and more of a role in the mainline plot. Scorpion's alt with his hair exposed in an up-do could very easily be his Hanzo look for this game, since as far as I recall he was alive and well at the end of MKX. I don't think it's at all suspicious they'd use Scorpion on 2 menu pics, because he's friggin' Scorpion. And while yes, there's a purple and gold sheen to the outfit of the guy in that picture, he's also standing in an environment that's clearly purple, with a purple sky and purple lighting. So is the outfit purple and gold? Or is the outfit black and gold with purple highlights, because the sky he's under is obviously purple?

But maybe it is Rain. I'm not even saying it isn't. I'm just entertaining the notion it might not be. Because yeah, it looks A LOT like Scorpion's new alt, and no amount of "nope" from Rain fans seeing what they want to see is going to convince me it doesn't. That said, it also kinda looks like Rain. KINDA. All I'm saying is: I'm not sure. At the end of the day, It's still just a piece of concept art in a pre-beta menu that may or may not be Rain.

This is NOT enough to convince me Rain is playable. Damn sure not 95% likely to be playable.

As for Rain, I still think he should keep his water powers, this is awesome and has a huge potential.

Even with that being said: the menu art, the name drop on the reveal stream, the backlash from X, Prince's death... it all adds up.

Rain is the only gracefull narcissist male vilain in the serie. He has a nice background, as a real traitor and tactician. He adds some royalty to the game, and has been promoted to half god. Even as an NPC he had more importance than actual playable characters like Reptile, Ermac, and even Mileena who failed everything.

Water powers are awesome and would look really good, he was fun to play. I just think his gameplay needs to be revamped to make more use of the water element thing.

He has a huge potential, gameplay wise and story wise.

And of course the obvious: he is ninja and purple (my favorite color), so he has everything for me to like.

Great roster but the absence of 3D era chars is notorious.

Could you explain what makes Raiden so popular? 'Cause perosnally, I've never really cared for him, nor saw the appeal.

For Fujin, he's a dope wind god who has a great calm demeanor and isn't so easily fooled or angered, unlike Raiden.

For Rain, he's a badass sexy Ednenian ninja with tan skin who dresses like a boss - like his inspiration, Prince - and is the only pre-3D era character other than Raiden that is actually divine. A half-god, but divine nonetheless.

Surprise nobody has made much mention of Frost. She was featured in MKXs story mode and would be a nice addition to the roster. Definitely one of the more memorable characters from the Deadly Alliance roster. If not her then maybe a female Shirai Ryu character be cool as well. Maybe someone related to Scorpions background. Either way super excited for the game and so far these are all great rumors.

Yea I thought exactly the same. I never liked Raiden, he is just some old guy with a stupid hat for me. And I feel Fujin is just Raiden without the said hat, without any personnality relief. I mean to each their own, but I don't really understand people asking this question for Rain. You like him or not, but his profil is unique and is easier to portray than some others.

Frost migth has as much fans as haters. Well no I think she has more fans, but her haters are very loud. She is still popular no mater what, and I expect her to make it this time. If she is not base roster, she is DLC. But she is happening, sonner or later.

Tanya is a crazy edenian bitch who is more worthless than Mileena at times so of course they would put her in and have her up against Kotal and Mileena for the amulet in MKX

Rain if he is in he is in if he isn't oh well he does not do much for the storyline, but neither did Ermac and reptile they were more minions who got their ass handed to them in mkx, yeah Ermac ripped Jax's arms off but that was more added in to fit Ermac into the story tbh

I'm usually not this jazzed waiting for a ninja reveal -- I'm actually really good with Rain, loved I'm in MK9. I wonder where he will go story wise, hoping he won't become a new Reptile/Ermac type where he's just some henchman with a couple of "this is why I'm doing this!!" lines. His powers are so damn fun!

I don't see anyone "bitching" here, except hoping for their favs to be in the game, and rightfully so, and that is very easy for you to say and despise people since your obvious main will always be in the game...

I also hate that most Kitana fans, don't care for Rain at all... like what? Mileena fans always include Rain in their lists, but Kitana fans never include the other Edenians for some strange reasons. It is like they only care about her playing style and not about her story at all.

Kitana fans in my opinion and experience are mostly the most annoying and selfish fans. I love Kitana myself, but she isn't my favorite.

Rain has developed into a nice character, though I’d wish that they’d get away from the ninja inspired look all together. They should show Edenia too. He’s 100% in regardless of that interview. I dislike his name though, with a passion. Can never take that seriously..

I always hope Rain and Jade also have other names, those are just code names maybe?
