Sonya in my opinion looks better then ever. Her first draft was awefull.

At first Sonya's was bad, but they rectified that. Although, going from a more oval face in MKX to a round face in MK11 is still kinda weird.
Jax is also in the same ballpark. Not bad in itself, but very different from previous games. Maybe we'll get used to it?

They pretty much overhauled everybody. Some for the better, some for the "worse". Some we just need to get used to I guess.
In overall I'm glad every character up 'till know looks to have a ton of personality.

I was a bit iffy with Sonya, but in general didn't care too much. Jax looks friggin terrible though.

I wish Raiden looked more Japanese and less American.

Everyone else looks great and I'm really impressed.

I know this isn't face related.... but Skarlet's long hair is just... yuck. Looks like she's applying for a secretary job in the 90's. I really liked the pixie cut.... all they needed to do was make it more auburn. I wish her hats/hair were her third customisable item instead of the weird blood vial thing that doesn't do anything.

I agree about Skarlett's hair. Sometimes women with short hair is sexy, not often but it happens! I think her bob gave her some much needed personality instead of being a pallette swap Kitana ninja.

No. I thoroughly dislike both Jax and Sonyas' new faces. Jax doesn't look like Jax. I'm sorry but Jax should always look like John Perrish. Strong facial structure, hardened and slightly surly.. He looks far too baby faced. and Sonya, why are they trying to make her look so unremarkable and boyish as possible? Don't tell me it's because she's older because Kerri Hoskins is knocking on 50 and she still looks amazing.

Even Ronda I Beat The Shit Out Of My Boyfriend Rousey doesn't look that boyish, even when her face is swollen like Stallones' at the end of a Rocky movie.

Liu Kang is fine, I guess. I wish they had taken Robin Shous' likeness.

I wish Sub-Zero looked like a eurasian John Turk and I wish Scorpion looked like he did in MKX.

And Kitana, I will always prefer her MKDA incarnation to anything before or after.

I don't think any of the faces look BAD in this game. They all look quite natural in terms of execution. But I agree with others here that I wish some of them went for a different look. Jax does look too baby faced, and I agree that to me he should always look like John Parrish. And I'm with Endo in wishing they would make Raiden look less caucasian and more East Asian. He's a Japanese god, FFS.

Everyone else though I am pretty good with. I like the somewhat boyish yet still pretty look of Sonya. To me she looks the most like a badass but still attractive military lady she has ever looked. Liu Kang and Kung Lao both look really great as well, and I'm fine with the more Asian features on Kitana and Sub-Zero.

Not liking any of Sonya's recent appearances, unremarkable is a correct word for sure. She should look like the hotness Kerri Hoskins, just a bit aged. John Parrish for Jax and John Turk for Sub-Zero are still the perfect incarnations of those characters for me. As for Kitana, not sure why they decided to make her look so obviously Asian this time, I personally would prefer a Talisa Soto appearance for her.

I actually really like Jax’s new face. It’s different than what I would have expected but I like it.

I do not dislike Sonya’s but she has always had a very similar face until mk11 so I was shocked more so than anything to see her reveal. I like it, but I always think of Veronica Vaughn when I think of Sonya. So it is a little weird to me.

The best face change is hands down sub zero. Chinese sub zero beats wierd out of place white guy sub zero by a million. My Main has never looked so good.

I don't really care for Jax or Sonya's appearance in MK11, but I'm sure I'll eventually get over it, especially since I don't really play as either of them.

I will say, though, Jax's MKX appearance and voice is perhaps his best, imo.

But what pisses me off is that Sub now has Hanzo's (Scorpion) face from MKX. WTF???

Sonya looks young and beautiful. I have no issues. If you dislike Sonya's face then you must dislike Cassie's because their faces are basically the same.

Sonya did look rough on Kombat day- but they have improved her since.

Sonya must have found a plastic surgeon real quick with her busy schedule of defending Earthrealm. That or she went to the Shang Tsung school of soul stealing, ha ha

I do actually. I think they all look terribly bland. They all have the same inoffensive perfectly average middle of the road teetering on boyish face that most western female characters have these days. From Horizon to the latest Tomb Raider.

Honestly I chalk it partially up to uncanny valley. You saw this same thing in those bad 2000's CGI movies like Beowulf or A Christmas Carol. Every female model in those movies had the same no lips button nose face model. Hell this even happened with every normal human character in Shrek. Men and women.

EDIT: Actually I take that back, Skarlet actually does look distinct and beautiful.

Sonya’s face looked awful in MKX. In MK11, it’s a slight improvement, but not by much. My favourite Sonya look (face and body) was MK9. Even her gameplay was amazing.

The worst face, though, was Johnny Cage in MKX. I can’t believe how atrocious he looked. Truly appalling. They’ve made him look much better this time around.

I hated Johnny's face in MKX. He was ugly as shit.

If there was only one reason why I wanted him in this game it was simply so I could wipe that MKX Cage from my most recent memories.

Sonya looks fine now, but casting Ronda Rousey was a fucking terrible decision. She's about as good at acting as she is at taking a right hook to the face.

Old Jax looks great, I dig his slightly grizzled look. Babyface Jax is fucking awful though, who decided to model him after John Boyega? Whoever it was, I hope he or she gets fired.

Old Jax looks pretty similar to MKX old Jax i think. It's the young version that looks too different and baby faced (he looks younger than Jacqui) but I will not be using that skin so I don't mind too much.

To be honest i did like sonya in mkx. But looking at some renders now I think she looks a lot better in mk11. I may be a little biased cause she is my main in every game. But I really do like her looks in mk11 old and young. Her younger self looks awesome and i Will use that more I guess. But hey we all know well enough that sonya dies in chapter one *cries* so if you really find her fugly.....you have only one chapter to look at it lol.

I do agree with you all on Jax that he does look a little off. It is not that I dont like how he looks. But he does look very different from mkx. But hey so does jacqui and i just love her look and cassie’s.

Everyone should always expect the faces to change from game to game. Its been happening since 92. I wish they had kept Sonyas older looking face in the early build of mk11. It made sense. She now looks young as Cassie which is ridiculous
