Well, that was no surprise. To me it just looks like a photoshopped version of Scorpion... which it probably is. Bad NRS! Bad!!!
But hey, it's just a palette swap, so why not fully treat it as such by not giving each original artwork?
Jade's confirmation is still the greatest news of the month though. ^^

its amazing that the fan pallet swaps are much better then the official.... come on best buy, he has undead eyes!!! its not scorpion!!
He seems like breathing ice vapor so at least he has a subbie trait.
Really you guys expected something different? You calling him photoshoped from scorpion when scorpion was indeed photoshoped from reptile. It was obvious from the first darkened sillouete that they would all have this pose. In fact if you look at the KE silloute it seems that the classic costume from the KE is going to be another ninja on this pose.

No, I didn't expect something different. That's the problem. It is predictable.

haha even though he looks exactly the same as the others I think his looks the best

Out of those three, I prefer Reptile. And no, it's not just because he is green like Jade. XD

I like the outfit for the simplicity and didn't expect anything different. I find that the outfits being palette swaps are a nice homage to the roots of these characters. They started off as palette swaps so it makes sense that they went in that direction with these skins.

The eyes on that pic. are tinted blue, so it's better than nothing I guess.
About the eyes. Subby eyes are often depicted as lighting blue when using his powers:

I think his eyes might have pupils, it's just really hard to see at this size.

Yep, I think it's good that they all seem the same. I mean, right now some of them are too distant from the palette swap (like reptile and ermac) that a new player wouldn't get the origin of this characters.

I agree. I have long felt that they were deviating entirely too far from the original designs for them to be either recognizable or even considered ninjas. When Tobias left, the character artist just went nuts and had absolutely no respect for the core of the characters.
I think Sub Zero's primary in this one is nice as it is starting to move back into ninja territory but Scorpion.....WTF are they thinking!?!?!? It is ridiculous, unrealistic and very impractical. I am SOOOOOOO glad I pre-ordered with Gamestop so I don't have to use that ugly primary

I don't want to participate in any "Tobias was the only good one, Tobias was always right, praise be to Perfect John Tobias" nonsense, as the guy had plenty bad ideas of his own, and I think DA, Deception, and Armageddon had great art/costume design overall except for some of the new characters.
I especially think Shaolin Monks Reptile is the ideal Reptile and the "skin disguise" should either just die as a relic of the past's limited graphics and memory capabilities or be reimagined as scales turned peach using his chameleonic powers.
But I wholeheartedly agree with anyone who hates Scorpion's silly bug-armor MK9 design and intends to use the klassic skin as their personal primary.

These classic costumes/skins are cool, but I liked more Reptile, anyway , both Scorpion and Sub-Zero are well done, and must be nice see these classic outfit working inside the game.
Best Buy sure took their sweet time on this (in comparison to the other retailers). I've been checking the site just about every day for weeks looking for the "incentive" announcement. Nice to see they stayed true to form though and still haven't mentioned anything about the other editions.

I think I'll stick with Amazon's Reptile Preorder however they contacted me and said they would ship it to me in may (The hell?) so I'll hold off until I see an official release date confirmed.
But for those who wanted Original Sub-Zero as a playable fighter now you can pretend this is him..or maybe it is actually him. Technically. Whatever.
Sub's original outfit is ok enough and Scorpion's outfit doesn't bug me (See what I did there?) enough to buy the gamestop preorder but hey more power to the Klassic Scorpion/Sub fans. When they come out as DLC later on I'm definitely buying them. I'm more interested to see the in-game alternates for each of them cuz I thought for sure if Human Reptile was to be in it'd be an alternate costume.
The only thing that would bother me is if Ermac got the MK1 treatment because even by palette swap standards I have to draw the line. At least Reptile was in MK1 but I believe Ermac looked better with the UMK3 costume than the fan version of him with a red MK1 outfit . That and Black Ermac is awesome. Always.
For Smoke I'd like him to have his MK2 costume but with actual smoke seeping out of his mask.

What's so complicated about it?
In MK1, it's the older brother.
In MK2 and 3, it's the younger brother.
This game covers all three and they wear the same clothes and have the same moves, so when you're playing vs. with your friends, it's whichever brother you damn well want it to be.

Referring to the old arguments over which Sub-zero this was due to the lack of an eyescar. And the tons of threads about Sub, noob, Sub-zero 1 and the Cyborg that should not be that followed afterward. Wrong choice of words on my part but then I've said before I'm not good at conveying my thoughts accurately. You're getting to be predictable Razor I knew you'd jump on that little quote.
