Perhaps with the next batch of DLC (fall season pass perhaps) they'll do another theme, like klassic non-ninja skins.

Right now, they're tied with Mileena until she gets her MK2 skin.

That means Scorpion needs to get a MKII and UMK3 suit so people will remember he's awesome. :P

But I'm gonna disagree with you, Gillbob, as smart as you are about these matters.
The *only* reason I see to believe that it may be anyone else is the fact all of the (batches of) free retros have been for a different type of costume.
They have two slots left to fill.
Considering they have up to FIVE other males who could don the MKII outfit, my money is against that. Sure, they *might* do MKII (or even UMK3) Scorp and Sub, but don't you think they'd rather have those as the main selling points of a new "Klassic" pack, and fill those last two slots with characters they have already made?
Are you implying you think Mileena and Skarlet would sell more than Scorpion and Sub-Zero?

Based on the fact that the klassic skins have all three so far been each of a different style (robots, mk2 ninjas, and mk2 girl ninjas), I expect the 4th pack will be two UMK3 ninjas. Probably not Scorp and Sub, as they're going to be needed to sell DLC skins pack #2, but maybe Ermac or Reptile or Rain.

Skarlet (or Rain for that matter) can not, will not, IS not ever going to be part of a free compatability pack. Ever. Period. I am 100% sure. To the point where I am completely secure in saying that I am 100% sure. (And we see exactly how that worked out for me when I insisted early in this thread that Blueberry and Lime would be Jade and Kitana *Brag*)

That voids the entire POINT of the compatability packs.

The free incentive of the compatability packs is to entice players who DON'T purchase the DLC into downloading what is essentially a patch for their game to make it compatible with the DLC. If they were to make Skarlet one of the free costumes, everyone who DIDN'T buy Skarlet would be guaranteed to have ZERO interest in downloading her alt, thus decreasing the likelihood they'd download the compatibility pack by a whopping 50%. NRS does NOT want that.

These freebies are NOT about pleasing the fans. They're basically a trick to get people to keep their games up to date, and not divide MK's online versus community.

As I've said in other threads, I assume (though by no means confirm) very heavily that the last pair will be two male MK3 ninjas. No, not neccessarily Scorpion and Sub-Zero. Though definately NOT Rain (for the same reasons as Skarlet).

I do think MK2 Scorpion and Sub-Zero would be the main selling points of Klassic Pack #2, and no, I'm not implying Mileena would sell better. Those were just words you seem to have put in my mouth. The reason I'm not implying that, is because I never once said compatibility pack 4 would be MK2 Scorpion and Sub-Zero. I don't think it will be. At all.

Frankly I don't think Skarlet will get a klassic costume. Yes, I want her to. Yes, I think she should. But frankly, dlc FOR dlc is not common, and very unlikely. So I'm not betting on it happening.

I'm also not convinced Ermac will get an MK2 costume, just because he wasn't in MK2. Granted, he wasn't MK1, but that's where his glitch rumor started, so it made a certain amount of sense. MK2 makes less sense. Same reason Noob and Smoke didn't get MK1 costumes. But I'm perfectly willing to admit he's at least a possibility.

As you yourself pointed out, all compatibility packs thus far have been different costumes. Why would that suddenly change? It won't.

Summing up...

I am 100% sure Skarlet (in any form) won't be in Compatability Pack #4

I am 100% sure MK2 Reptile, Scorpion, Sub-Zero & Mileena will be in Klassic skins pack #2, possibly among others (Robo Smoke and Sub? MK3 Males? Don't know. Time will tell. But those first 4, I'm sure about.)

I'm iffy on the prospect of Ermac getting an MK2 costume, but willing to call it possible.

I'm EXTREMELY iffy on the prospect of Skarlet or Rain getting any classic costumes. I'm holding out hope as much as the next guy, but it's not likely. And NEVER in a free compatability pack. That WILL NOT HAPPEN.

My best guess (and that's all I'm calling it, a guess) is that compatability pack 4 will be 2 UMK3 male ninjas... and neither of them will be Rain.

Who they -will- be... is a gamble...

Ermac and Reptile are the least popular, which again, makes them both likely and unlikely for different reasons

Noob and Smoke seem unlikely, since I doubt they'd double them up as freebies twice. Though it is -slightly- possible.

And again, Rain isn't even a possibility.

All circumstances considered... I'm not willing to say with 100% certainty which two I think it will be...

That's a valid point, Gillbob, but I've addressed it before:

It's not like the pack would be MKII Skarlet *and* UMK3 Skarlet-
it would also include Mileena, a character *everybody* has.

Let's look back at the other packs:

1- Sektor and Cyrax. I almost *never* use Sektor, so having Skarlet here wouldn't have made one lick of difference.
2- Smoke and Noob. As much as I like him, I rarely use Noob. See above.
3- Kitana and Jade. As much as I like her, I rarely use Jade. See above.

I would agree with you if the suggestion was, say, Skarlet and Rain,
but I don't think NRS/WB would have the *slightest* issue with releasing a compatibility pack which includes *one* DLC outfit.

Honestly, the only reason I doubt myself at all is the reason I mentioned and wombat elaborated on-
I could see them doing UMK3 males instead of "finishing" the MKII ladies,
but I honestly think it's much more likely we'll see a $5 package of seven UMK3 outfits for the guys (and *maybe* UMK3 Skarlet as a bonus).

FUCK YEAH MKII Kitana! Next would probably be 2 MK3 ninjas. Why? Because I really doubt MKII Skarlet (as much as I'd like it) being free. It looks like they're getting the palatte swap costumes out of the way early on too. MKI and UMK3 outfits were released early as exclusives MK2 outfits and Cyborg outfits followed...After MK3 Ninjas there's really no more Ninja Costumes left. And releasing the rest of who's left would be The Klassic Costumes pack 2. Palatte Swaps would be done for good after MK3 ninjas so the people sick of them can rejoice. also one more YAAAAY MKII Kitana!
