It's not just the boobs that bother with the females.

Im a man who would like women in a fighting tournament to have a variety of body features.

Just look at SF4, Tekken and Soul Calibur, Blazblue, etc for ex:

Chun-li's legs and medium sized breast, Sakura's flat chest, Cammy's small chest and tone buttocks. Ivy's thick frame compared to Talim's thin frame.

Each female is either thin, tall, big, or small and those competitor's games.

In MK now that they are making next gen fighting games, every girl has the same body type, I see no difference other than the hair and clothing (I believe every female will have heels on this game) on thier identical bodies. It looks like the only thing correct for all the games is skin tone. It's a shame NRS is letting the unreal engine limit them so much on just design.

How hard could it be to go into Zbrush and change the size of a girl's weight or height compared to the latter? If they can model Xrays for each they can definelty do that. That's why I'm not into the females much on MK like I use to be.

Sure. Like I said though, MK has a few exceptions (as do fighting games in general). There is also variation. Cage and Jax both are toned, but they still look like they have notably different sizes. There are plenty of "ugly" MK characters as well. Many of the male characters are not very appealing sexually. Also, it isn't particularly unhealthy to strive for a muscular body. Obviously one can go overboard, but being in shape is nothing that's a bad goal to have or present to people. Having large breasts is though, because normal girls don't all naturally possess mountains on their chests. As I said before, I just want some variation so it doesn't totally ruin the effect for me. Fiction is fine, but believable fiction is the best kind because that's what gets you into a story. If the characters are designed in silly manners it really deters this, at least for me.



Sure I was. This isn't a new thing or anything, I was just hoping against the obvious that they would take more than just the gore level seriously this time.

Chun-Li has some pretty big knockers, if you ask me, and Soul Calibur has waaaaay more focus on breasts than MK.

Regardless, I don't think the "styles" of any of those games are akin to Mortal Kombat.

I've said it many times. I find Mortal Kombat's presentation to be all about excess. I have no problem with womens' breasts being proportioned with more contrast to one another, but I have come to accept the overdone sexuality as part of Mortal Kombat's core. That said, I know there's more approaches to sexuality than large breasts, but again, Mortal Kombat has never been known for subtlety.

I feel you. I have no problems with your opinion. I just think your looking for moderation or subtlety in the wrong game.

Not necessarily. Deadly Alliance is a good example of a game I feel is well done. Not perfect, of course, but well done. There was not a ton of focus on sex in the females in that game. Yes I realize it was the debut of "the thong", but that costume was still far more tasteful than what we're seeing in this game. MK:DA is still probably Kitana's best costume, though again not perfect but very elegant in my opinion. Li Mei's main costume was something unique and new, Frost was a female ninja. The main focus felt like it was on the story, where I prefer it to be, instead of on eye candy.

Again, I'm only asking for diversity. To go with what I said about MK:DA above, there was also Ashrah in MKD. I just don't think every female needs the exact same body and a skimpy costume thrown on it. They have toned down the silliness of Mortal Kombat from the 90's, and in my opinion their character design team is being just as "silly" as 18 ribcages are. Both are unnecessary and unrealistic.

This whole everybody complaing about the body types of the females being the same. Its been like that since the begingin of MK theres never been a huge boob character (ivy soul calibur) a thunder thighs girl (chun li) or an ass chick or a little petite jail bait japanese school girl (god some game developers are fucking twisted lol)

Well if sheeva makes shell have a different model lol. Maby scarlett will be in and not have massive boobs or sareena mabye. I have a feeling we will prolly see some post mk 3 females considering mk is so low on females when compared to other modern day fighters. Who knows Khamelon might even make it. (the girl the guy has been offically axed)

I think they're trying very hard to be as shocking as possible this time around as well.

Like I said, Mortal Kombat is growing with the tolerance for sex and violence in the west. I only expect it to be more apparent in the later installments.

That's the only reason why I want Sheeva to be in to really see what NRS can do with the Unreal Engine. They never made a next gen version of her yet, so it could be really interesting to see if they can take on her design and make her stand out from the rest (definetly with those arms and height). Goro might prevent that from happening, but we'll see eventually.

I would personally like to see sheeva in. But if Goro is playable in the main roster (not a boss) then I doubt it. If hes a boss I think shes got a chance.

I dont know her story to well. I know she was sindels gaurd and rebeled against shao kahn. However I dont know how essential she is to the story. She in the same catagory as the centaurs. The time shifting and what not gives them a logical explination to being axed

Goro will be a lumbering monster, even if he's playable, at best capable of bursts of speed and maybe not even able to team up with others.

Sheeva is the "legit" Shokan. Also she's awesome, and will lead the Shokans to glory while Goro dies by the side of his sugardaddy Shao Kahn(wat a pimp)

O I think shes legit to, its just not every fan feels the same way. Shed be in the game if it were up to me, but Im not sure if it will happen.
